I feel great for Pagano. Most of the big wins last year were with Arians on the sideline, so it's nice to see Pagano get this win. It's obviously the biggest one of his head coaching career. What a great game plan and coaching job.
No one likes a loss, but maybe that Dolphins loss wasn't the worst thing in the world. Seems to have lit a fire under our a** like the Jacksonville loss at home did last year.
Havili's blocking was instrumental in opening holes. That really helped.
Forgot to mention that when the running is effective and you move the chains and you lead, is amazing how much time you eat up from the clock.
Que up a bunch of "Did the Niners make the right choice choosing Colin Kaepernick over Alex Smith?" debates tomorrow....
The Niners had the ball 11 times.
End of Half
How do you spell D-O-M-I-N-A-T-I-O-N?
Gotta wonder how many games will we be able to play good enough defense to be able to run the ball so often.
Me personally I love the physical, hard nosed, run the ball approach....when your defense allows you to do so. The question is what's going to happen when we have to play in a shoot out type of game; what will be the play calls then?
Listen, the type of play calls and heavy running works well today because SF is the type of team to use it against. So enjoy the win for what it was, because we did a great job of using the correct gameplan.
I agree that this won't cut it for other teams, but hopefully they call it well those games
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.
Secondary was just brilliant today. Watching the replays you can see exceptional coverage all around. Really happy with that for a change.
According to Jed York, Aldon Smith will not play on Thursday.— San Francisco 49ers (@49ers) September 22, 2013
They should've just sat him out oddly enough he made no difference.
They were missing Vernon Davis though.
San fran is one of those defenses that literally lacks weakness. They literally are solid at every position across the board. The fact that the colts could run the ball today Says alot.
Like I said in a thread I started on the Colts board....running does still matter in the NFL. It flat out won the game for us. Chewed up the clock and kept Kaep on the bench. Maybe being more than a passing team is a good thing. I think I can live with Luck having less spectacular stats if it leads to W's. This is fun!!
Can anyone else believe we 49'ered the 49'ers at their place after they got thumped by Seattle? I for real thought that this was going to be a monumental *** beating that we would be on the wrong end of and they'd be out for blood looking to take it out on someone. An optimist says we win a close one, but I don't even think the worlds biggest colts homer saw this coming, and apparently san fran didn't either.
AFC's 9-1 against the NFC so far, nobody saw that comin
