Default Someone trying to hack my account?

I just got a "someone tried to log into your account" message at a time when I wasn't online. Just out of curiosity, if that happened, how would I go about getting my account back?
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Worst case scenario, get a hold of an admin and let them fix it for you. I'm not sure what e-mail able et al would prefer you use to do that, so you might PM them to ask. Otherwise, flag me down on Twitter and I'll patch you through if it came to that. But since I'm 'retired' now, I'd prefer you try to get an e-mail from them.

I got this too. Why would someone even want to get onto another's message board account? What's the potential benefit?

I'm still not convinced that the forum or server are secure after our Syrian friend messed things up.

For one, I don't think THIS is what should be coming up when you access the memberslist:

They want to get your email. If they can get that, and like most people, the email password is probably the same as the board password, then they are hoping they can find things like bank information.
