Pollard Activated, Harrison to Injured List
Pacers.com Report | Jan. 14, 2004
Scot Pollard was activated from the injured list today and will be in uniform for tonight's game against Phoenix in Conseco Fieldhouse. To make room for Pollard on the roster, David Harrison was placed on the injured list with a concussion suffered Tuesday night in Memphis.
Pollard, 29, has averaged 8.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in six games this season. He was placed on the injured list Dec. 3 with a sore lower back. Harrison, a first-round pick from Colorado, had led the Pacers in games played with 32, averaging 20.0 minutes, 6.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.56 blocked shots. He is among the NBA leaders with a .582 field-goal percentage. Harrison must miss at least five games, which would keep him out through Jan. 21. He will be eligible to return Jan. 22 against Washington in Conseco Fieldhouse.
Now, before everyone throws a hissy fit about DH being out for 5 games, a bad concussion can certainly warrant him sitting for a while. I had a concussion a couple years ago, and while I had some short term memory loss, I wasn't staggering like David, or kept overnight for observation. My balance wasn't great, and it redefined the word "headache" to mean "someone is digging into my skull with a hunter's knife". I missed almost two weeks of my desk job, so don't be surprised if David's out for a while.
