    "serverely sprained right ankle"

An MRI will be conducted tomorrow to determine exact length.

If its really bad, could be up to 2 months.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

    Thanks, Kstat.

So, what would you guess the range be on this injury? The maximum would be 2 months...what would minimum be (since it's severe)?

That sucks. I'm no Laker fan but I watch this game for the great players that play it and he is one of them.

    Ouch.

That said, wouldn't it be funny if LA pulled a "Toronto without Vince a couple years back."

well, there's possible ligament damage involved too, and if there's a tear, kobe's season is likely over.

If its just a really bad sprain, probably 2 months.

OK - I try my best to keep a level head. And I really hate it when i see something unfortunate happen.

But I can't hold back my hate for the Lakers and Kobe. It a real problem. Here's why: my wife and I actually laughed and pointed at the screen - IN A LAKER BAR when this happened. Nobody attacked us, so I guess we used our get out of jail card on that one.

The rest of the place was FREAKING OUT! I haven't seen more suicidal bargoers since I moved here from Chicago (they're used to crushed hopes there).

Considering that he will get the best treatment money can buy, I think he'll be back in 2 or 3 weeks.

Don't bet on it. I would say with even the best treatment it would take at least 6 weeks.

Something must be wrong with me too. I laughed my *** off, when Kobe got injured. I can't stand that guy too. Family and friends and given me so many kobe posters, bobbleheads, bookmarks.. etc, as prank gifts.

But I actually like the Lakers. I want them to win so that the Kobe lovers will finally shut up

When I first heard he got hurt I wanted to post this: but I decided that would be rude and in bad taste, so I didn't.

I think id feel worse about it, but I think the Lakers will play BETTER without Kobe, so in that respect, I dont.

Yeah, basketball purists by definition hate selfish behavior. It's terribly hard for me to imagine a Laker team without an annoying celebrity (pick one) playing. I'd say 7 of 10 supposed Laker fans couldn't even name the other 4 starters this year.

Something about that dominating celebrity thing rubs me the wrong way. Cowboys of old ... Yankees ... Lakers ... just the thought of them can make me go on a hate rant.

Things are about to get interesting in Laker land, and if it means I can actually watch some good local ball, I guess I'm for it. If a team plays great team basketball, I should be able to enjoy watching them no matter who they are.

Sadly, I think I'm too far gone when it comes to the Lakers.
