That is the biggest problem, he is a running QB, but in this system we don't use him that way, so it will most likely fail all the time. We either have to change qb's or the way we use them, if not this year will all be a struggle.
I agree but ND struggled to contain Gardner last week so Henry could cause their defense problems

He is more of a running QB maybe but he isn't in the same discussion as Gardner.

I can guarantee a Purdue win against Notre Dame...

that is a bad number, especially at home. though maybe you are right, generous. I wouldn't put too much on ND-20.5 though.

^though I will say all i've seen of the team this year is the first half of the UC game. I understand it went downhill from there.

I don't really know how big it is, Painter still needs to set his sights higher on a consistent basis. Edwards is a good, solid 4 year guy but there's no reason we shouldn't at least be pulling a top 50 guy yearly. I think he's an outstanding in game coach, but it takes players, and in college getting big talent is at least half your job. Painter's making 2+ mil a year, facilities have been upgraded, assistant salaries have been upgraded, high time to start demanding top 20 type classes every year.

I think Purdue coaching staff may have finally listened to me, lol good game plan, u have to make your Qb comfortable short passes, rollouts, designed runs, options, screens, and you also have to get your quick backs out in space instead of running them with so many guy in the box, man we really played a good game, and I am excited to see what happens the rest of the year with the team playing this way now.
    Why so SERIOUS

I definitely still think we need a little bit better talent coming in. I don't think VE is huge, but I think it is big. He's pretty good, and it was nice to win a long recruiting battle.

Gabe Holmes out for year per J & C. Is this the second TE that we've lost for the season or just the first? I thought there was one earlier

First I think, but there's a ton of freshmen listed at TE's so maybe one slipped through the cracks. Either way, Sinz looked pretty good against ND, hopefully won't miss a beat. Even good ole Patrick Bade got a catch against ND!

and speaking of stepping the game up for hoops targets, Painter had Tyler Davis in for the ND game, a big 2015 center from Texas that's ranked between 50 and 20 nationally depending on the service you prefer. those're the kind of kids we need to go after, it was an unofficial so he came on his own dime so it must be at least somewhat serious given the distance.

thanks; no, I thought I remembered a first/second-stringer being out, so this must be the same guy, luckily. Depth is already a little suspect at that position.

I saw Bade in the box score. Good for him. He wasn't great at basketball, but he wasn't notably worse than some others who stayed/are staying for 4 years I thought.

If AJ plays his way into a top 15 or so pick (I know, long shot probably), that has to help with future bigs we are recruiting I assume. (And if Tacos plays his way into the draft...)

so anyone know if Knauf is really pronounced with a hard K? I'd never heard it said aloud before this year and always just assumed the K was silent and it was "nowf" or "naugh," but every announcer's pronouncing the K. just seems weird to pronounce the K.

Yeah, I think if they were competitive they'd be in there by now. Of course, they could just REALLY want Etling to redshirt.
