Purdue just offered PJ Thompson. He has been under recruited his whole high school career. You have to feel good for him.

^ god knows we need a PG...but if it turns out that he was under-recruited for a reason, I will blame you personally P4E!

I like him more than I like Hyron Edwards(I think that kid is so over recruited. I saw his coach bench him due to a ****** attitude, and even when he played I was not impressed. I have watched East Chicago quite a bit the past few years). I have only watched PJ twice live, but the kid can play for a little guard. It would have sucked if he ended up at a Ball State he is to talented for that. Looks like it will come down to Purdue and Creighton.(Creighton hasn't offered him yet)

EDIT: The pg I love is CJ Walker from Tech that kid just has a swag about him. He is a really fun guy to watch. Purdue is really the only big time school already interested. I think he will be very good he could be my pg any time. He is so young though.

Yeah he did recruit these guys and they have potential but when I watch them on offense they look a lot like a HS team at times, it is pretty bad, they have no identity at all.
I like that he takes responsibility, but even in that he kind of backhands his players. Which I get, if they can't take criticism screw em, but he just doesn't seem emotionally invested in his guys. He seems to adore Carroll for whatever reason but other than that he's just sort of robotic with them. Guys come out of a game and the vast majority of times they just walk right by Painter w/o looking at him and go sit next to Brantley or Owens. Pre/post game game pressers are ALWAYS separate now, Painter's never at the podium with his players. I honestly think the guy's just sort of an *******. Which is fine, plenty of ******** have been great coaches, but it feels like he sees them more as employees than "his guys" y'know, it seems like there's very little non-basketball relationship with him and the players.

I don't dislike Terone, but I will not miss him.

EDIT: I can't wait for him to go.

So apparently Ronnie's transferring. I'm not exactly upset, but a kid that's been a starter since day one and is likely to continue to be to up and leave is pretty concerning.

Per team SID Chris Forman, #Purdue freshman Basil Smotherman is fine. Just a bone bruise.

^Every couple of games he would make a pass that would show special talent, but the bad far outweighed the good. Not going to miss watching him.
The scary thing, of course, is that B Scott was appreciably worse.

Something isn't right with this program. I think Painter has lost the team. I feel like we'll hear stories about the inner workings of this year's team.

He definitely keeps losing guys the more they're around him. He's Keady hard on them w/o the Keady endearment. I fully expect us to suck again next year and Painter to be fired, I'll be watching a ton of mid major ball all next season.

Yeah not sure what it is with Painter but man I just look at the team and be like they can not have faith in this guy you know. I think recruits that considered us but went a different direction are probably glad they did not commit here, I think people look at the team and notice something is wrong. Here is hoping we do not lose anymore or any of the recruits we currently have.

Painter needs to really have a good year next year or he is gone.

Purdue's been in contact with Anthony Lee, the 5th year Temple transfer. So have about 75 other schools.

Eron Harris is transferring from West Virginia. Played a year with Smotherman, dad went to Purdue. That'd be a really nice get. Which means it won't happen.

I remember him when he played for indiana elite, I think I remembered overhearing that he wasn't getting as much offers as he had hoped, but this might have been before his senior year. He has added a lot more bulk in that time which is a good thing, I think it will be hard to entice scoring guards here with Stephens and Scott looking to get a lot of the reps, as well as Dakota.

But we will see, did he mention a reason for transferring?

One of the Star guys, think their Butler reporter, said he wants to be closer to home but didn't offer a quote so I don't know if that's him speculating or what.
