Washington State just put up 25 against Arizona.

Guess that one isn't going down as a "good loss" for us.

So here is a question. I believe there are five ex-Keady assistants in big time hoops right now (Lavin, Martin, Painter Stallings, Weber). In hindsight, if we could have gotten any of them when Painter was going to leave for Missouri, which one should we have gotten? (I know probably only Martin was gettable, maybe Weber). Was keeping Painter the right move? Assume that each brings their current staff with them.

    I'll weigh in later.

My patience with Painter is wearing very thin.

A couple recruiting tidbits. Not a huge fan of Edwards, I think Dillard would be a good get though.

I think Painter's an outstanding x's and o's coach. I also think he's a hardass dickhead that is completely resistant to change and can't relate to this generation of elite players. I honestly think he's better suited as an NBA assistant and maybe someday a head coach. I don't want him fired, cuz who the hell else we gonna get, but we need a complete revamping of our entire approach to athletics. We're obviously not IU, we're not even ND who's closing off the region. High school kids don't want to play 3+ pass motion and man to man, not the caliber of kids that are going to win a title someday.

We're getting left behind because we "do it the right way." **** motion, **** man to man, our campus is an hour from the biggest prep hoops Mecca on Earth. **** old school. It's one thing for IU to miss on guys, but when we're not even the 2nd option, when we miss on Irvin, on Harris (especially), on Dawson, Conley and Oden went to OSU when IU was in the dumps, WTF! We need a complete re-branding, and like I said I think Painter's a great in game coach, but that **** doesn't matter when you want to get kids suited up. Painter's Keady 2.0, which there could be much worse, but is that why we're giving a top 15 or so salary? We gotta start holding his feet to the fire starting yesterday.

Already impressed by Wisky, but if they beat iu for the 13th time in a row tonight I will really like them.

Should be an interesting game for us against Illinois tomorrow...heard they had a less than impressive game a couple days ago...

Rayvonte Rice is a game time decision tonight, that'd definitely help

obviously his shot isn't falling but I'm loving Kendall's non-scoring contributions tonight. I thought he was gonna be a shooter and that's it, he's really well rounded, and also can't really shoot despite how pure his stroke looks

God bless these kids, they play hard, but I'm not sure how good they are. The Johnsons and BScott just play an unattractive brand of basketball (RJ just had a nice pass tho). Carter may be no more effective, but he just looks better/smoother when he plays.

I like the idea of Stephens more than the actual Stephens. I am worried that he ends up like DJ Byrd, where is a "shooter" in the sense that he takes a lot of bad/deep threes and makes ~35% of them.

Power forwards, again not super-skilled, but play hard at least.

Hammons is easily our best player. Need to get him the ball more.

^^There it is, AJ is getting hot, and RJ puts up a jumper, and AJ gets the foul on the board...and on the next D possession...

To his credit TJ has finally started to defer a little bit...it took what, 3.5 years?

edit: we've been getting some 50/50 calls I've got to say

    1) they don't give him the ball usually
    2) refs call bs fouls on him

    Solid win.

Not impressed by Groce. Good for us in the long term if he flounders in ILL for a good while.
