I've seen some scouts and whatnot compare Daokota Mathias to Nik Stauskas with a bit more size but less foot speed. I hope so, Stauskas is awesome for NCAA ball.

Looking good but I'll reserve judgement until an entire game goes by.

I mean Boston College is pretty atrocious I think, but if I'm a Purdue fan I still have to be encouraged with the offensive execution if nothing else. You did what you had to do--take care of business at home. Plus, you helped save the Big Ten from a ACC/B1G Challenge loss.

Not that it's unique, but I knew Bryson was going to be a favorite.

    I love his type.

beating Butler'd go a long way on the tourney resume. don't have one at all right now.

work cut out for us in conference if we're going to make the tournament. luckily we'll have a ton of chances to build a resume. that almost comeback was pretty nuts.

and it's time for Bryson Scott to get major minutes, sorry Ronnie just too many dreadful decisions. Scott should start from here on out. kid's gonna be having other fanbases screaming "he didn't freakin graduate yet?" his senior year.

Yes, I like Ronnie, but Scott is the definition of a Purdue basketball player.

...and Denzel Ward decommits. His second decommitment.

I agree with something I read - that's fine, but don't commit early if you aren't ready. Twice.

Also, it's pretty ****** that he was very vocal about having a good class, restoring former "glory" etc. and then decommits a few months later. Whatever, good luck at ucla or wherever.

Yeah, obviously it sucks to lose him, but I'm not all that upset. Kid seems really, really full of himself.

I feel like this WVU game will be one we look back at in March and wish we had a W. Basically, I feel like this is a must win. Much better to sit 9 days thinking about a solid win, headed into the OSU game, rather than sit 9 days thinking about a loss headed into the OSU game.

beating WVU would be a solid win, but not like it'd make or break us. in terms of winning it anyway, we lose it we're basically done as far as making the tourney goes far as I'm concerned. we'd need a LOT of conference scalps, and I don't see it happening. that Butler game's gonna hurt. I don't think that necessarily makes us bottom 65 team, but it definitely makes us mediocre with a non-existent resume. so is what it is.

maybe it happens, it probably doesn't, but 2 straight years of no NCAA tourney is a warm seat as far as I'm concerned. when you're paid extremely handsomely, at a basketball school, in CENTRAL INDIANA, absolute bare minimum is the tourney. people that don't demand that are hurting the program as far as I'm concerned, it's not that much to ask for. at all. settling and not demanding more has been a massive problem basically my entire life.

I say must win because the Big Ten is going to be a bloodbath and Purdue will be providing a lot of the blood. Need 8 just to have a prayer. I dont see it. And a couple would need to be against MSU/OSU/WIS.

It won't matter if they lose today.

Don't think 8 is going to fly with the noncon resume we have. I would say 10.

I took a nap yesterday and woke up at 1230pm hyped for the game. I couldnt find it. I thought surely they wouldnt put the game on the exact same time the Colts game is on would they?

So im headed to a bar today to try and watch both the Colts and Purdue at 1pm...

great body really good in the mid post for a wing. He makes a lot of poor decisions and silly fouls. The raw talent is there. He was clearly a top talent. I had to Google him to find out how big of recruit he was. but I like his game. Raw, but super talented. I can see why Purdue is on him smart to be in first. Michigan St and IU are also interested good to get a leg up.

This Marion vs Tech game is fantastic great HS game.

Watching Derrik Smits today. I am more impressed with his cousin Smits-Franscisco. Most freshman aren't built like him. Kid is 6'7 with Reggie Jackson type arms. his wing span is easily over 7. Looks like Purdue and Xavier are the only two in on him right now. His production is lacking, but he has all the tools I am going to keep an eye on him. Gonna go watch Ben Davis Lawerance Central tonight lots kf Purdue targets playing in that one.
