Travis Carrol just needs to go. It's unbelievable how bad he is on both ends.

If I were Travis Carrol, I would quit basketball. I wouldn't show up the next game. The embarrassment would break me. Knowing I'm seven foot and I have no clue what a low post game is. I cant even jump off the ground. Point guards eyes light up when I'm defending the paint. I would quit seriously.

I think without PD Carroll's life may be in danger.

I was irate at half, but we made that a game, Smart sitting or not. That team from the 2nd half is a tournament team that'll get ranked at some point. See if they keep it up.

Little bit. He played well early and mid 2nd half yesterday. Marcius would have been nice to keep.

Bryson Scott must think he's 6' 11" with the type of shots he tries to get up in the paint

We're going to lose to a team with a player named "Hugh Johnson"

edit: not impressed with Simpson or Stephens at all. Smotherman is limited too.

Played OK today. Was relatively good on D, without fouling. Went after boards hard. The guards need to get him the ball more on offense.

    Observations:

#1. Hammons is worthless, and we're stuck with him for 2.5 more years.

#2. Do we even have an offense. We seems to have 3 plays: stand around and watch Hammons half-heatedly fight for position before throwing a bad entry pass, shoot an early semi-contested 3-pointer, put head down and drive.

#3. If we're supposed to be running a motion offense, painter needs to scrap it right now. This team is too dumb to be asked to constantly make decisions. Try to get out in transition or run a damn set.

#4. Bryson Scott has the biggest balls on the team and probably will be the best player on the team before the season's over - if he's not already.

#5. Scott, Johnson, and Johnson are terrible fits with each other.

#6. This team has the potential to be very good defensively.

Welcome to motion offense that happens at times. When motion is on it is the most beautyful thing in the world when it is off you may not get a good shot for 10 minutes. Painter is a very good motion coach he would never scrap motion that is what he teaches. The team isn't too dumb to run motion that is crazy talk. The team just needs time to play. every team looks bad early it isnt how you start but how you look down the stretch.

With that said I am not high on this Purdue team at all not enough shooting IMO. I do agree the defense potential is very good I like the guard play a lot in the few PU games I have watched. The Rider game was a perfect example of early season basketball they played awful, but that is why most teams have a cupcake schedule it takes time to gel.

I don't think Shoop would've been going anywhere regardless. Hudson either, who's an even bigger problem than Shoop.

I guess we won yesterday, but that shot at the end of the first half really bothers me. Down 11 or 13, holding for the last shot at the end of the half, and RJ jacks up a three out of the half-court with 20 seconds to go. The guy is, what, a 20% 3P shooter? Decisions like this tells me that MP is not in control of the team. Just brutally stupid.

On the bright side, our team has really good sportsmanship, I noticed. (not being sarcastic).

    2 games - 2 terrible halves 2 good halves

    1st 2nd total
    30 38 68
    43 20 63

Liked AJ sitting to start the game.

Painter is slowly becoming over paid. He can't seem to coach low post players and perimeter guys can't even make consistent low post passes. 7 footers are drifting to the 3 point line with guards guarding them. Its bad. Its real bad.
