Hummel's going to camp with the Timberwolves again. They have 14 guaranteed contracts, so it looks like he'll be fighting Lorenzo Brown and Othyus Jeffers for the 15th spot. If he doesn't make it this year he may just say screw it and focus on Europe, he had a pretty damn good year in Spain's top league last year. Eventually you gotta weigh a multi year contract of good pay to play big minutes in the 2nd best league in the world or sitting on the end of an NBA bench on an unguaranteed contract.

yeah, it's not so much the decision to transfer, he wasn't going to play much the rest of his time at Purdue most likely, and he's got a little girl to take care of him. D1 ball's a major time commitment, lot of time away from home. its just the timing that's weird, you'd think he'd have done it months ago. oh well, either way I wish him well. he waited 2 years just to play for Purdue, poor guy had to wait longer than he actually got to play.

Hale's going to D2 Bellarmine in Louisville. Good for him, he'll be close to New Albany and play right away.

    Definitely wish him well.

I think it's fairly safe to say Painter is forcing kids off the team.

practice starts tomorrow, if Donnie wanted to play this year all he had to do was wake up in the morning and go. you can argue Painter's (finally) recruiting somewhat better players and that Hale saw he wasn't going to play much the rest of his time at Purdue and was "forced" out that way, but I assume he's been in class all month, he was already using his scholarship this year. it's not like Painter yanked it or gave him a thanks but no thanks talk like he may have (probably did) with Anthony Johnson and Lawson at the beginning of the summer.

WTH.... man Henry is not confident making those passes... take him out, if he does not have his confidence then we are going to lose no matter what... he either needs wide open guys or he needs to run. Also no idea why we would be passing on 3rd and 2 when we are supposed to be more of a power rushing team, just stupid, atleast a play action.

And why do we give so much of a cushion, stupid, soft coverage has been hurting us all season long, when we actually play tight we do a much better job... this season is a wash, I don't like the offense we play and I don't like the defense we play...

I was there today. Yikes. Bad talent? It seems like NIUs receivers were open a lot and Purdues were all tightly covered. Purdue seems slow. NIUs kicking game made Purdue look highschool like. Sad state of afairs. The first drive they are running the ball down the field and then a 15
yard penalty. False starts and illegal formations penalties. In the 5th game of the season.

Yeah, I was there too. I really hate to say it, but a lot of our problems look coaching related.

First test of Hazell's ability to discipline. I say suspend em about 4 games. Being a dumb college kid and getting a public intox or getting in a bar fight is one thing, stealing is just poor form as a human being.

In brighter news, hoops got a commit. Jacquil Taylor, 4/5 man from Massachusettes that might contribute his junior year. Yay.

So Etling's the starter the rest of the way, that's not surprising.

But what is surprising, Rob Henry was apparently wearing #22 in practice today. Meaning he plays safety now.

Not a fan of different penalties for the same offense just because one is a good player. Not a fan at all.

Glad they got a halfway decent suspension but I agree, unless there's more to Jordan's history or something.

It really says a ton about Henry. He's a great kid, marry my daughter type. How many 5th year QBs at a high major program are going to switch to a position they haven't played since high school (I think) 5 games into their last season w/o a hint of a fuss?
