Like I said...nothing to worry about.
Exactly. All of this hand wringing and worrying was completely baseless. Crean didn't suddenly forget how to recruit- he knows what he is doing and has been doing it for a long time.

This class is going to end up very nicely- Goodluck and Devin Robinson could easily join RJ at IU.

IU - Mizzou nearing end of 1st qtr. Two poor decision throws to the endzone by their QB or we could easily be down 21-0. Our offense looking poor so far. Better get untracked soon the way they're eating up yards.

Mizzou 28-14. Can't shake the feeling it's the same old IU despite the flashy helmets. There is some talent, primarily on offense. But I don't see how you win enough with a D that just gives up real estate like it's going out of style.

Yes, the defense has been bad giving up 21 pts and 363 yards but the offense can't take the first quarter off or give the other team 7 points.

Now, outside of the glaring lack of anything resembling talent at the DE position, I could see a halfway decent D in two more years based on young talent if EVERYTHING goes ideally and recruiting continues as last season.

No doubt. But even with a high-powered offense, you're going to have occasional off days. The D just can't be THAT bad.

What will this pass protection translate to against B1G defense's. If they can't give more time, gotta go Roberson ASAP.

The Qb isn't the problem- the offensive line is.

I figured the D would struggle but the offensive no show is disgusting. The offensive line is injured and stinks and Tre Roberson is good for nothing but 3 and outs at this point.

well, i now see believing this squad had legit bowling potential was but wishful thinking.
this is definitely not a bowl team- not even close.
though the defense gave up crazy yards again (all-time memorial stadium record i think)
the offense did them no favors at all.
even the defense had a few moments but, i'm not giving either side a passing grade overall.

Agree, but the offensively was equally ******, and I'm not sure that won't continue moving into B1G season given the comp level.

Lourawls Nairn chose MSU. Sucks. I really wanted him to be the back up point next year. Guess he picked the place with more playing time available. Hoping we still land Robinson and Goodluck....most ppl want JB2 still, he can go else where for all I care.

WKU beat Navy 19-7 and Arkansas State hung with Missouri for three quarters.

IU football manages to aggravate me even on bye weeks.

Any thoughts on Penn State? Their coaching and overall talent are clearly superior but they start a true freshman at QB, not that Memorial Stadium is an intimidating place to play.

I think they are going to score at least 35 points and will beat us. We'll pick off Hackenberg or whatever his name is once but that will be one of our few stops. Basically, a typical IU football experience.

You have to be encouraged that Goodluck is announcing the day before HH. Land him and we are good to go.

“It’s going to take time,” Crean said during a 65-minute address at IU Auditorium in front of about 300 people. “It’s not a plea for patience. It’s reality.

“You’re not going to see a defensive juggernaut when you see us play Friday night. You may not see it for a while, but it will be get there.”

Heh, this team is an enigma. Vonleh has serious potential to be amazing. It's going to come down to a couple guys I think. And in my mind, it's Yogi and Troy Williams. Those two guys need to be able to get us 30 combined. If they can do that I think we are a top 10 team honestly. Vonleh is that good.

Not having Vic will obviously hurt the D, he covered up a lot of mistakes. Troy has the potential to be a high level defender though. Evan Gordon is a solid all around player. This team doesn't necessarily have another star outside of Noah, there's certainly no two headed monster that Vic and Cody were, but there are a lot of solid players. Hollowell's development will also be crucial. We don't necessarily need him to score a lot, but he needs to be a presence on the boards. This team can be very athletic, but Yogi is more important than ever. He will have to be the conductor.

Don't get your hopes up. Not seeing anything positive about IU's chances here.
