We played a good game overall, just too many turnovers.

Michigan shoots 90% from the line.

Iowa, seeded #6 in 2001. They're the only team to win 4 games in 4 days.

And guess who they beat in the final game.

Mo Creek averaged 22 points while shooting 14/24 behind the 3pt line and playing 36 MPG over GW's last 3 games....could have used that shooting. But really happy that Mo got back in it. What a hard worker.

Obviously it sucks the team won't be in the tourney. But admittedly I feel better about this team than worse, and I'm by nature fairly pessimistic.

I thought guys like Davis, Williams & Robinson in particular took huge strides as the season progressed. There was a point where I really only wanted Yogi & Vonleh to touch the ball. Down the stretch, I was fine with a lot more guys trying to make plays.

Williams & Robinson could really grow to be scary in transition for the Hoosiers. Don't know that anyone will ever be 'Dipo in transition, but VO never had the two-headed transition attack that the Hoosiers could have with Stan & Troy. Throw in Yogi, and I think the Hoosiers are going to run A LOT these next few seasons, and score a fair amount of points at the basket. If this team can develop someone as a back-cutter (Davis?), there will be a lot of easy opportunities.

Two major areas to improve, of course, will be perimeter shooting and, to me, breaking down a zone defense. I think the former can be done, at least with some time, with the addition of the freshmen. Jury is still very much out on the latter...

Glad for him too, but that's like a Gerald Green situation to me. He showed nothing at IU to indicate he could be the player they needed him to be after his injury. Great kid, so glad for him, and it is admittedly crappy that he was shoehorned out of the program like he was. But if we're talking about pure basketball value/skill, I don't disagree with Crean's decision.

I think it's different than Green because Mo was coming off multiple catastrophic injuries. It doesn't surprise me at all it took him another year to be a contributing bball player again. I'm not saying he changes the season this much, but I think we may have found another 2 wins off of having another shooter in some games.

IU baseball rallied in the 9th to take 2 out of 3 in Jacksonville this weekend. Now 7-6 and have won 5 of their last 6 games.

Crean is now officially on the clock (as of next year). That team - Vonleh or no Vonleh - cannot be as underwhelming as this one. 17-14 against this schedule? I don't think so. If the "young", "inexperienced" narrative is valid, then there better be noticeable improvement next year. Otherwise, Crean's seat should be uncomfortably hot.

I'm honestly not real encouraged by next year's recruiting class, especially if Vonleh leaves.

yeah, if noah goes, i don't see much of an improvement over this year. getting rebounds and anything resembling rim protection will be very tough.

IU baseball beat Kentucky 7-2 this afternoon. Now 8-6 overall with 2 wins over ranked teams. Hopefully they're getting back on track after that bad start.

Yeah, but at least we will have some freaking shooters. Blackmon and Johnson can flat out stroke it. Yogi's shooting improved this year to where he's a legitimate threat behind the arc. I expect a lot of small ball next year and a breakneck pace.

If we can sign a rim protector this spring, I'm confident next year will be better. It doesn't even have to be an offensive threat, just someone who can defend and rebound. Crean's offense doesn't utilize the post anyway.

I'm not holding my breath there. I expect to see a heavy dose of Hanner-Devin Davis-Stan Robinson-Blackmon/Johnson-Yogi lineups.

Well, it's tourney time. Does the season (officially) end today at the hands of the Illini? Or will we get another crack at Michigan tomorrow?

I think we get another crack at Michigan tomorrow. It wouldn't surprise me if we won that game either, because that would allow us to get our hopes up before getting bounced by Nebraska or Sloopy.
