Don't get your hopes up. Not seeing anything positive about IU's chances here.
I still think it could go either way. I don't believe all the ******** that swirls around right before a recruits announcement. Look at Robert Johnson, almost every expert thought we were out of it and then he picks IU. I think what's going on with GO is the AAU coach or someone came out and said it was IU and now their saying were out of it to give the kid his moment back again...considering the announcement is on TV and such.

But maybe we are out of it...who knows, I just don't see how we were the leader on him for months and months and then right before the announcement it's between OSU and UNLV.....doesn't make sense to me. Unless its a dirty a recruitment and CTC dropped out. Idk guess we ll see.

Last night around this time, a very well-connected poster on one of the IU boards said he had been informed it was IU. A couple hours later, he retracted that comment and said he had been told IU had been removed a few days earlier and it was between OSU and UNLV. It's been strange, to say the least.

And right after Robert Johnson tweeted "welcome to the family bro" at Goodluck, he picks......

    UNLV.

Wow. Why UNLV? Weird. I figured it was definitely OSU or us. That's crazy. Whatever. Hopefully Noah stays two years and we pick up a big in 2015 like Diamond Stone.

    At least it wasn't OSU.

Translation- we're going to lose... A LOT. You can't expect a bunch of freshmen to compete in a loaded Big Ten unless you have UK's class.

    Sigh.

I guess Devin Robinson is the last remaining possibility to finish the 2014 class.

Too many spoiled Hoosiers fans whining about this decision (not here, just all around). If IU's worst problem is that it has to sign some other four-star player, I think they'll be fine. Ratings are silly anyway. Hanner Perea was a five-star...where did that get IU last year? Meanwhile, Victor Oladipo and Will Sheehey were overlooked by everyone, and obviously have played huge parts in raising the program from the dead.

I'm less concerned about where some dumb recruiting service ranks a player, than I am about what Tom Crean does with them.

Very true Dr hibbert. I'm not worried. We have some very talentef young guys right now. I think in a year or two we gotta shot to win it all. Especially if we land Robinson.

Those insider type of IU boards have been completely unreadable with the trash being thrown around on their messageboards. People are ****ing insane.

Plus, haven't we been burned enough by raw, needs to improve: Offense bigs? Jurkin, Bawa, Tijan....I'll leave Hanner out for now, but he better show something quick.

I don't get it...it's like Kevin Wilson prefers to make things harder on his own team. Fourth and 3 at the PSU 20 and you run the ball? You know Ewald can kick, right? Decisions like that lose games.

Defense looks pretty good against Penn State's pro style offense.

What a performance by the Hoosiers today! Holy crap what a huge win. Penn State isn't anything special, but we had never beat them and this being our B1G opener, they have once again sucked me back in.

We are doing a much, MUCH better job of getting pressure on the quarterback today. Obviously Hackenberg is only a true freshman and is spending far too long in the pocket, but man...what a performance.

IU just started their run to the Rose Bowl.

...nahhh, Penn State just isn't very good and we played out our asses.

Nothing is insane when IU football is involved. I actually cringed when I read posts here celebrating the win when there were still 8 minutes left, even though we were up 3 scores. It wouldn't surprise me if IU fumbled in the victory formation.

Here's what's really insane. We haven't beaten OSU or Michigan since 1987. Going that long without beating one team is hard enough, but two? Hopefully we can beat one of them in a couple weeks.

Great win. So much frustration built up over the years was released today.

Remember the game against Penn State under DiNardo when IU had a first and goal at the 2 and couldn't punch it in? The losing streak should have ended that day.

Enjoying it for the moment. Prepared for a cold hard dose of reality at any point though.

Wilson's gotta get this program to a point where this is a shoulder-shrug, expected win. Obviously, that takes time.

My biggest thing is that this program has to capitalize on momentum. They'll go out and clock someone by 40 points, and then lose an embarrassing home game the next week and discourage people from buying tickets, showing up. Team can't afford to go balls-out one week and crap the bed the next. Need to establish consistency, take advantage of momentum. That's how you get people believing in the program again.

Until recently Kentucky had pulled off a similar minor miracle of futility against Tennessee and Florida. Still haven't beaten Florida since the 80s. And those teams play every year.
