No, all I know is what I heard at tipoff of tonights celtics-Magic game.

He was held out of the game, and Boston TV is saying he may have just been dealt, and they speculated it was to Sacramento.

Orlando Magic swingman Cuttino Mobley appears to have been traded, according to reports. The nature of the deal is not yet known, but sources close to the Magic speculate it could be Denver. Mobley who holds an option in his contract for Free Agency, and announced plans to use it this summer appears to have been traded according to broadcast reports. Terms of the deal have not yet been made, but Mobley was replaced in the lineup after suiting up tonight. More details as they become available…
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

    Denver?!

I wonder who the Nugs had to give up as well...but that definitely fills their lack of outside shooting.

I love Cat Mobley. Why can't he come here?
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

But would Denver really give up Nene in a deal for Mobley?

Exactly...he would be a perfect fit in there. He's a strong big-man who likes to get out into the open floor - which would be a nice compliment to Francis' running game.

    PG: Jameer Nelson
    SG: Steve Francis
    SF: Grant Hill
    PF: Dwight Howard
    C: Nene

I think Denver is gonna be it (my guess), but I had to see just out of curiosity:

Indiana trades: SF Ron Artest (24.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.1 apg in 41.6 minutes)
Indiana receives: SG Cuttino Mobley (16.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 1.8 apg in 31.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -8.6 ppg, -3.7 rpg, and -1.3 apg.

Orlando trades: SG Cuttino Mobley (16.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 1.8 apg in 31.6 minutes)

    TRADE ACCEPTED

    ESPN.com news services

Sacramento Kings and Orlando Magic: The Kings are close to finalizing a deal that would send guard Doug Christie to Orlando for Cuttino Mobley and Michael Bradley, two league sources told ESPN Insider Chad Ford. In anticipation of reaching a deal, the Magic pulled Mobley and Bradley from the game just moments before tipoff. While the deal is not yet finalized, both sources told Insider that they expected something to happen soon.

Magic GM John Weisbrod has been lukewarm to Mobley since trading for him this summer. Mobley is an undersized two-guard who thinks "shoot first" on almost every occasion. The Magic wanted a better defensive presence in the backcourt and Christie can deliver.

On the other side of the coin, the Kings were looking to juice their backcourt scoring ever since Bobby Jackson went down for the season. While the deal makes Sacramento more potent offensively, they do lose their best (and sometimes only) defender in Christie.

As far as the cap goes, the trade was essentially a wash. Both players are free agents after the 2005-06 season. Bradley was a throw in for salary cap purposes.

Christie, 34, is averaging 7.3 points, four rebounds and 4.9 assists in 31 games this season.

Mobley, 29, is averaging 16 points and 2.7 rebounds in 23 games. Bradley, a 25-year-old forward, is averaging 0.8 points and 1.8 rebounds in eight games.

Cant say I agree with this trade. Christie was the last defensive player Sacramento had. The Kings get better offensively, but WORSE defensively, which is pretty tough to do.....

I can't see the logic from Orlando's POV, either. CHristie doesnt run the floor like he used to.

Maybe Sacramento wanted a scorer to fill in for a future trade that may send one of their current scorers like Peja / Webber away?

Mobley while not as good a defender as Christie is is also excellent. If he were 3 inches taller he would be every bit as good a defender as Christie

    I don't see how.

If you trade Peja, adding Cuttino Mobley isnt going to make much of a difference.

If you trade CWebb, itll be because you WANT to take scorers off the court to clear space for Peja.

Seems like a bad trade for both teams to me. Christie is old. Kings don't need to be trading D for more O.
