Same here. There's nothing I look forward to more than the start of Colts football. College just doesn't cut it for me either. I've never been able to get excited about college football. I just find it completely boring compared to the NFL.

Can't wait! Really think our offense can be dominant, can't wait to see the new guys like Darrius Heyward-Bey, Ahmad Bradshaw, Gosder Cherilus, Greg Toler, Donald Thomas, and certainly "dirty 30"

Colts are going to be really bad this year. Andrew Luck is a mediocre QB at best and is no RG3. The Colts have no talent and Luck will get injured this year. Colts will be lucky to win more than 2 games.

Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

Keep that RV tuned up and check those tire pressures often!
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

This looks like a good thread to throw in some training camp odd thoughts.

What do players do to break the monotony of training camp? Of course useless competitions playing dominoes, ping pong, and the following off the wall ideas.

Saw the Colts O-linemen one time compete on who could make the best synthesizer sound with their mouth to the song Final Countdown by the 80s band Europe. I think Diem took it easily and had a good kazoo sound going.

Some actual money on the line and not bragging rights on this one. Couple of the Colts intern guys (the guys who catch the balls for the punter or quarterback, help in the weight room, etc) were talked into having a race about an hour after practice. These guys are pretty athletic themselves and in this particular matchup you have a guy built like a wideout competing with a guy built like a muscled bowling ball. Probably half the team stuck around to watch the race which was the length of the football field. The offense supported the skinnier guy while the defense took the bowling ball. As things settled down a few on the defensive side hedged some on their bet and switched to the skinnier guy too. Surprise, surprise, the bowling ball guy was actually like a hot rod tank and fast as hell. Only in the casino would you see that kind of money being exchanged.

You know how hippos are made out to be sweet and silly, like big cows, but are actually extremely dangerous and can kill you with stunning brutality? The Pacers are the NBA's hippos....Matt Moore CBS Sports....

I ran into Dwight Freeney a few years ago at a Kroger before he headed to camp. He had a cart full of jerky, nuts, candy, etc. Struck up what little conversation one can have in a checkout line and he said that he just needed some stuff for late nite snacks. And when I say a cart full, I mean that cart was FULL. I guess it works pretty well for him.

On paper, this is one of the best-looking offenses we've had in years. Luck has so many weapons, it's almost criminal: Wayne, Hilton, Heyward-Bey, Brazill, Allen, Fleener, Bradshaw, etc. Plus he's getting his OC from Stanford. This is definitely how you develop a superstar quarterback; surround him with weapons, and get coaching staff that he's familiar with.

and im sure alot of them break out the ps3 and xbox360 and compete in madden and other games, i remember Edge James used to be a big gamer, they said back then he was one of the most competitive gamers in camp, with the new technology out today, its no problem for players to still see their families by facetime and skype and other things, im sure the anderson campus has free wi-fi for them

I'd say that the odds of him trying to come back under an alias this year (i.e. Blue&Gold) are better than 50/50. Just watch out for the Broncos/Pacers/Yankees logo combo.

Here's a crazy statistic that shows the excellent parody of the NFL: The last six Super Bowl champions have failed to win a single playoff game the next season. That's pretty jaw-dropping when you thinkn about it.

06: Colts (lost first playoff game against SD the next season)
07: Giants (lost first playoff game against Philly the next season)
08: Steelers (didn't make playoffs the next season)
09: Saints (lost first playoff game against Seattle the next season)
10: Packers (lost first playoff game against Giants the next season)
11: Giants (missed playoffs the next season)

That's remarkable. I have a good feeling that the Ravens will make it seven straight years given that they lost virtually every recognizable face outside of Flacco and Rice.

The last team to win a playoff game the year after winning a Super Bowl was the 2005 Patriots. They beat the Jaguars in the wild card before falling to Denver in the divisional round.

Do the Jaguars count as a football team? Might as well make that seven years

Wasn't sure if this deserved its own thread, so I'll just post this hear. I know many don't like Cowherd, but living in Korea, I listen to whatever podcasts I can to stay connected. He did a run down of every team for the upcoming season, and I was surprised with what he thought we had in store. Has us as, I believe, the only team going 11-5, and not only winning the division, but winning the AFC Championship. I was living in Chicago last year, and was preaching to everyone that we were going to have a good season at 8-8, and no one believed me. I don't think anyone could have believed that we would have had the season we had last year, and I was thrilled with the outcome. That said, now that we are a known factor I expect some regression, and I think Cowherd is a little off base with this assesment. Still, good to hear our name with a positive national spin.
