Thread: Would Michael Redd Make the differance?

Default Would Michael Redd Make the differance?

I have really been thinking for a bit now that hanging our hopes on SJax and JB to fix our problems may not make sense. I think at this point we really have 2 choices. We make a mid season trade to get some extra talent in

    OR

we accept that this season will likely be a bust. We might get to the second round if we are lucky but probably not further and we accept that get a decent draft pick and wait for Ron's return next year.

Here are the 3 possibilties that interest me the most although I am not sure that any of them will actually happen and they all have their drawbacks.

    1) Baron Davis and Jim Jackson. This is the biggest rumor out there and has been discussed a lot so I won't waste a lot of time on it.

    POS
We get a defensive scoring point gaurd and a shooter.

    Neg
We loose Tins and Barons health is questionable. We also gain a huge contract.

    2) Michael Redd. This one hasn't been in the rumor mill for the pacers but why not? Redd can flat out score and with the way Reggie is showing his age he might be the perfect compliment to JO with SJAX on as small forward.

    POS: Big scoring threat!

NEG: His contract expires and he has talked about going to the Cavs. This could be a risky trade where only success can keep him in Indy.

    3) Nene - This one also hasn't been discussed a lot but I love him and think he will be HUGE in the NBA. He is very talented and doesn't like playing behind K-Mart. Denver needws help but I am not sure they are ready to give up on this season by aquiring Artest.

POS- Strong young and talented. He could help our rebounding and goes to the hole strong.

Neg- If he is stuck behind JO and may continue to be upset. Will his size and strength inside make the difference? It is hard to say.

    Thoughts?

Milwaukee would NOT take Artest now. I can think of only about 3 teams that would take Ron for players of actual value: Golden State, Atlanta, and New Orleans, and that's because they all suck

I was thinking about Redd and wondering what it would take to get him. I agree that the Bucks probably don't want Artest, but if they are losing him anyway, I wonder if they would take either #1 Fred and James Jones or #2 Bender.

Nope! I think even if they are going to loose Redd they could get (much) better deals involving draft picks or good prospects.

Hasn't Milwaukee already told somebody in the press that the Pacers offered Ron for Redd last summer, and they scoffed at it then. It seems they remember the whole Ron/ G-Rob thing a little better than I do; they basically said the same thing as Jerry West, they don't want him at any cost.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Any trade for Michael Redd would prob require trading both David Harrison and Freddy Jones.

The Bucks need strength and size inside just remember how soft they were against Jermaine thus Harrison is in the trade. Please Jeff does not fit bulk role , and no way to Pollard and his back in a Redd trade.

Rumor was Bucks were intrested in Nene for Redd

If Redd were dealt they need a sg thus Freddy Jones. A 3rd low salary with ability would need to be added to work capwise James Jones.

So capwise to perk Bucks ears it would be David Harrison , Freddy Jones and James Jones for Michael Redd.

Sorry too rich for my blood for a player who could just leave this summer.

We tried to get Redd this summer for Artest. I doubt they're more interested now, unless they have some sort of "Lottery" thing going on where one fan is eliminated every game.........
This is a funny post, but I'm not sure everyone will get the reference.

What would it take? Probably Fred Jones, David Harrison, James Jones, and a #1 draft pick.

I'm guessing a package involving 3 of Fred Jones/James Jones/Harrison/Bender would probably work.

Which is to much for a rental in my opinion. Now IF we could somehow get him to sign a multi year deal ??? Well than I rather still exchange Harrison with another one of our bigs.

what if we can both redd and bd they don,t want artest for redd this how it will go we trade fred jones and james and harrison for redd we we will have atleast 11 players on our roster after this then ron artest for and tinsley and pollard for bd and jimmy jackson both trades accepted

    our lineup change

    Pg...........Baron Davis
    Sg..........Michael Redd
Sf..........Reggie Miller trust me carlises like that.
    Pf..........Jermaine Oneal

this trade will never happend maybe because of the cap space but pacer fans couid these two trades happend both in the same year

I read somewhere that Michael Redd is a FA at the end of the season? Is that true?

It gets better: He's unrestricted. No options. No nothing. And he's suggested that he doesn't want to return to the Bucks.

Let the shark feeding frenzy begin!

sweet. The Pacers also have $6 million in return for the suspensions, so is there a good chance Michael Redd could be in a Pacers uniform next year or is it just a dream? He wants to play next to LeBron tho.
    let's trade for LeBron then.
