Default Pacers Announce 2013 Rookie/Free Agents Camp Roster

INDIANAPOLIS – Miles Plumlee, Orlando Johnson and Ben Hansbrough, all members of last year’s regular season roster, and No. 1 draft pick Solomon Hill highlight the Indiana Pacers’ 2013 rookie/free agent camp roster.

Camp begins Wednesday in Bankers Life Fieldhouse and continues through Saturday. The Pacers will begin play in the Orlando Summer League Sunday that runs through Friday, July 12. The team will be coached by assistant coach Dan Burke.

Plumlee, a 6-10 forward/center, was Indiana’s top pick in last year’s draft (26th overall) and played in 14 games, averaging just under one point a game. Johnson, a 6-5 guard, was a second-round pick (36th overall) acquired from Sacramento in a draft night trade. He played in 51 games, averaging four points per game. Hansbrough, a 6-3 guard, played in 28 games, averaging two points. All three were on last year’s summer league team. Hill, a 6-7 forward, is the Pacers’ No. 1 draft choice (23rd overall) from Arizona.

Jonny Flynn, Donald Sloan, and Ben Hansbrough. I think our third string PG is on this roster.

Interesting to see Jonny Flynn on there. I would have to imagine he would be a better 3rd string PG than Ben Hansbrough. Then again he couldn't make the Pistons roster last year, or whenever it was, so who knows...

    That's what I was thinking.

Rasual Butler also stands out as an interesting very cheap shooter off the bench.

Anyone who impressed the coaching staff will get an invite to training camp. Anyone who further impresses in pre season and TC might actually have a chance to stick. I'm not talking about the guys already with the team, but the FA's.

For a third string PG, though, all he has to do is bring the ball up, initiate the offense, and find a couple players a game while limiting his turnovers. If nothing else, he's done a fairly good job of that in his career.

remember when we allegedly offered the Paul George pick for Jonny Flynn? those were the days. I liked Justin Harper a little bit in college, figured he might find a spot in the league at the end of a bench, that clearly hasn't worked out.

Something tells me if Flynn was worth a John Brown he wouldn't have been cut so many times and playing in Australia of all places.

I am not holding my breath that he could make the team.

I'm rooting for Christian Watford, he can shoot the 3 as well as anyone. I know his defense is lacking, but for a b/u PF, he could stick around.

Croz should be pretty stoked about Flynn being on the roster. He's worth a shot for 3rd point guard.
