    Default Colts Equivelant of PD

So, I've always just gone to Stampede Blue and Colts Authority, and have never really thought about it, but is there a Colts equivalent to Pacers Digest? Not this sub forum, but a respected Colts message board?

I've been to the official one, and the IndyStar one back in the day, but I've never really found a good home for Colts to talk on a message board.

I've yet to find a Colts forum that is anywhere near the quality of Pacers Digest. I use PD for most of my Colts discussion. There is good insight on coltfreaks and I frequently check it during the season, but that place can be pretty uncivil at times. Colts.com is OK I guess.

There's no doubt that a good chunk of it is trash, but there are a few diamond in the rough posters who offer some really good insight.

Like I said, I'll take the Colt discussion here over any place else.

I believe you're looking for the ColtPower site. I think they were around even before PD was established. I use to frequent them from time to time but at some point they started charging for an exclusive insider section which kind of turned me off. Still they always had great folks and very similar to PD.

Edit: This side area (thanks Hicks) was/is still kind of having growing pains, but I believe it is getting stronger as folks continue to discover it.

There is no good Colts forum, s'why I started doing most of my posting on Colts-related stuff here. Even if though the Colts community is a lot smaller here, at least I can mostly rely on good well-behaved intelligent mature posts.

I check Colt Freaks every once in awhile, but there is usually little to no discussion and a bunch of internet name calling.

You're going to have trouble finding a sports forum as good as PD. I've spent a lot of times on forums and most of the ones that are this well moderated and have mature discussion you have to pay for.

Coltsfreaks is a great site. You just have to get used to it. There is a good amount of analysis on there and if you join the site and check out the General Discussions sub-forum you can enjoy the "Gifs" thread.

I am not registered there but I check it very frequently. Many posters offer good insight indeed but there is a lot of name calling and 'personal attacks'. They claim they do it for fun and there is nothing personal. Personally I don't have problem with that but I can see why some people will.

The official colts forum has some really great posters over there, but overall it has really gone down hill with their disastrous moves they have done over the years. Also, they go for such a family friendly board that it at times it just gets annoying to post there.

I know I will be here more than there during the season.

I quit going over to the official one for a while after I was chastised for having a President Obama quote in my signature. I know we aren't supposed to discuss politics there or here at all, but this wasn't political. It was a line from his State Dinner comedy, "Where are Biggie and Tupac?". Some genius other poster reported me as a racist and that I should be suspended because racism is not tolerated. I literally laughed and replied to the admin about my punishment about it being a joke he told and that there is no possible way to construe it as racist, and she told me that she agreed with the other poster. I told her off and quit posting for like nine months. (Now I'm mostly a periodic lurker)

That's when I thought about contacting the PD admin hierarchy about creating a Colts sister site. I never got around to it, but I'm willing to contribute to that effort.

I was banned from colts.com years ago for pointing out Tony Dungy was using the colts logo to endorse anti-gay organizations. It pissed off a seventy something year old moderatorfrom florida. I Never even got a warning.

As long as you don't join in with the name-calling or pissing matches and offer decent Colts analysis when you post, you'll be fine. I feel like PD also has plenty of off-putting posters, though not due to personal attacks, it's more with the off-the-wall trade scenarios or obsessions with random dime-a-dozen players on other teams. With both sites, I find post-game analysis to be the most worthwhile threads.

Coltfreaks.com is the one I usually go with. It took me quite a while to adjust to it and get past the idiocy, specifically because PD had set a high standard. But, once you figure out the game that they play, it's a decent place.

I would love it if this part of PD was more active, the way the Pacers part stays active.

I don't mind Coltfreaks at all. I lurk there a lot.

Heard nothing but bad from Colts.com Forum.

If you criticize the team there even if it's a valid point, you probably get banned.

I enjoy the Colts.com Forum. There are plenty of knowledgeable people on that board. I've criticized the team plenty and never been threatened with a ban. Haven't posted a lot lately but I did when that whole Manning drama was going down. I was on there all the time.

There are definitely people over there that are beyond approach and that is Dungy and Manning. You bring up anything that may make either one look negative and it was really frowned upon. I got warned about criticizing Irsay during the whole Peyton/Irsay fiasco and I have been one of the few that was there in their original forum and stuck with them through all their horrendous changes.

I have never been banned for criticizing the team, but like I said earlier I got warned for criticizing Irsay. What kills me more over there is not the mods getting on people for criticizing the team it is the amount of posters who act like the team is beyond approach and everyone who is on the team is the greatest. The team never makes any mistakes and that you are not a real fan if you do not be in lock step with every decision.

The Colts official forum went to hell when they moved to the MyColts system. Yuck.

Really too bad too, the crew they had moderating the official board during the 06 run were a blast to chat with during the games. I remember the IRC chatroom absolutely EXPLODING when Marvin had the circus catch against New England for the TD at Foxboro.

Coltfreaks.com is generally more entertaining that insightful. There are a handful of posters that are knowledgeable. The website does have issues with crashing (sometimes due to payment I believe). I go there more in season as the activity levels can get pretty slim during the offseason. There is a good amount of posters from the former RATS board.

Colts.com fan forum is great if you are trying to stay up on the news. You tend to get more of the common fan who may be less knowledgeable. Members do a good job of scouring the net for articles and news. Breaking news is also available immediately. The moderation is pretty tight as there are a lot of immature posters from day to day.

I used to frequent Coltpower.com, but have kind of fallen off the last few years. Last I remember, there was decent discussion......kind of a similar atmosphere with the residents here......outsiders can get the cold shoulder.

I spend most of my time on the official site just because it has the most traffic. Coltfreaks definitely allows for more freedom in posting.
