    Default Pacers Fans Demographics

    Hi all.

Was just wondering what's the status of demographics for Indiana Pacers fans?

Are most of the fans just from Indianapolis, or is it really a state team??

Is there areas where people would generally support the Chicago Bulls?

Appreciate any feedback. This kind of info always interests me.

Definitely farther reaching than just the city of Indianapolis. There are a number of Bulls fans in the Northwest part of the state and some Pistons fans in the Northeast part.

I'm originally from Frankfort, IN and now live in Middletown, IN

I'm from southwest Indiana. There is not a huge following of NBA down here. The majority of people that do support the NBA though are Pacers Fans.

Primarily if asked, people would either say IU or UK.

Well personally I am a Pacer fan from Ireland. I know of about 3 or 4 other Irish Pacer fans online anyway, so there's bound to be a few more that I don't know of.

Most NBA fans in Ireland support the Celtics or the Bulls.

I live in Columbia, SC. I was born in Indianapolis however. During the playoffs this year, we got all the NBA fans talking down here. People loved what they saw, and we scored a lot of attention from fans of the sport. Every place I went people were debating the Pacers and Heat, and most believed/wanted Indiana to win. This is college football country here, so it isn't a huge following. The team did win some new fans down south though.

It's like a mixing pot. You got Pacers fans, Heat fans, Lakers fans, Bulls fans, Celtics fans, Thunder fans, Raptors fans, Pelicans fans, Hawks fans, Knicks fans, and even 1 Bobcat fan. They're all die hard too. Most of the Lakers, Bulls and Celts fans actually come from Cali, Chicago, and the Northeast. I'd say the Pacers are the #1 team though.

I've lived Northwest, Northeast and central Indiana. The Pacers seem to have far more support and interest around Indy.

I lived in Fort Wayne for 5 years. Fort Wayne and most of northern Indiana might as well be another state. Lafayette has a little more Indy influence. Further to the northwest and you quickly get into Bulls territory. Lake County might as well be a different country. In fact, many in state government don't consider Lake County to be part of Indiana...or at least they talk like it.

To be fair, a lot of Lake County residents talk like they aren't part of Indiana too

I am 27 years old, moved to Washington, DC when I was 17 but still root for the teams I grew up with (Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts).

There is no perfect way to describe it, but Indiana is kinda like three states: Southern Indiana is very much like Kentucky or Tennessee, central Indiana is very Midwestern, like Missouri, Central Illinois or Kansas, and northwestern Indiana is basically a suburb of Chicago.

Born in Tennessee, lived in Kentucky, moved to Greenwood, IN when I was 6. Been a Pacer "fan" since Mom and Dad bought me a Red, White and Blue Pacers ABA ball. Didn't really follow them though til the early 80's when they were really, really horribly bad. I followed them but there was never really anything to look forward to. Honestly we were, along with the Clippers, the laughing stocks of the NBA.

I got a little more interested when they drafted Clark Kellogg, but I bought season tickets Chuck Person's rookie year. Jack Ramsey's credibility & Chuck's play put us on the NBA map. I've had tickets and been a Pacer fanatic ever since. It's great to see we have fanatical Pacer fans all over the world now!

I Live in Warsaw IN. I became a fan in 2005 when they lost to the Nets in the playoffs. Most fans here are Laker, Heat(Lebron and Wade fans), Bulls, 1 Knick fan and a few Pacer fans. The Pacer "fan" population actually grew here this post season but those same people made fun of me during the JOB days when i wore my Granger jersey. SMH. Bandwagon fans.....

22 years old. Born in NW Ohio. Now live in northern Minnesota. Been a fan for 22 years. Haha. Uncle had season tickets since I was born and got to go to games as a kid. Made me a huge fan. Pacers probably rank highest out of all my teams (unless you count where I went to college, ohio university)

I live about 25 minutes west of Indianapolis, and I've been a fan ever since my dad took me to the Pacers' last game at Market Square Arena. They played "Good Riddance/Time of Your Life" by Green Day as they showed highlights from past Pacers' seasons. It's the earliest moment I can remember in my entire life. I believe I was 7, because I'm pretty sure it "closed" in 1999.
