Marco Belinelli? Pacers seem to be one of the few teams linked to Marco, what do you guys think about potentially picking him up?

Source says the Indiana Pacers had expressed interest in Nate Robinson, but ultimately decided to sign C.J. Watson.

Don't like the idea one bit.

Would be extremely unhappy if we picked him up. And it has nothing to do with stats.

He's always rubbed me the wrong way. Kind of like Mike Dunleavy Jr. Marco always seems to have this irrational cockiness to him when I think he's a mediocre player and I would just hate to have him.

Probably also the value of life there in NY, I bet he loves it up there, that is something you can sacrifice for, also I think he is from NJ so that probably plays into it as well.

I think the Pacers main goals right now need to be 1) Try to get PG to accept a MAX offer now. 2) Try to package Gerald Green and a 2nd round pick, so we at least have a shot at resigning Lance and Danny next year.

I think that's a lot of money for a guy that shot about 35% from three over the last two seasons, and had splits of 33/27/72 during this year's playoffs. Just another sign that the Knicks are after the sizzle and not the steak.

That said, they're also all-in right now, and I was actually expecting him to get a bigger offer from someone else. This isn't really a great signing but they wouldn't be able to get anyone better with the mini-MLE either.

I just don't want to watch Nate 82+ games. Every time he comes up, I can't get his court drooling out of my mind. The most gross moment in NBA history. Insane looking man drooling out his mouth like water pouring out of a cup.

I'd love it depending on the price. We could use a wing who can shoot and handle the ball and Marco can do those things.

Fair enough, I'm the odd one who thinks that a below average backup four (pendy, plumlee) can get us to where we want to be in the playoffs (top 2 seed). And then once we are there Granger can take on those minutes at backup 4 and Watson, Stephenson, Mahinmi can make up our bench since we have 6 starters now, basically. If Granger doesn't appear healthy we then can try to get a better backup 4 at the deadline. I know I am the only one on here thinking this way, but I would love giving these six guys a chance to play together for 3 years, and signing a guy like Landry would make that near impossible.

Why not? They have Copelands rookie rights. Copeland is a RFA.

We need to revisit Josh McRoberts as a b/u #4. Settle the debate once and for all who we should have kept. He's not my favorite choice but Josh can give us what Tyler did and wouldn't be too expensive.

They have his RFA rights but not his bird rights. So to match him they have to use an exception.

Got ya, cause he has only been there 1 year or been in the league 1 year. He hasn't established his bird rights. Is this correct?

Yep, totally right. If the Knicks were under the cap it wouldn't make much of a difference since they could use whatever money they had under the cap. But in their current state they are obviously well over the threshold.

I don't understand the Marco Belinelli rumor, he is a 6'5 SG, we already have Lance Stephenson, if we get Belinelli I think that means Granger is getting traded

Yes, and the because they are over the LT, they only have the mini mid-level exception available, of which they used about 1/2 on Prig. They have about $1.75M left, and Copeland will cost more than that. Think they're targeting Brand or Belinelli with that money.
