Source: Cavs now in play for Copeland with a potential multiyear deal. Also Pacers might be working a trade to create space for savvy vet.

tweet makes it sound like we are trying to make a trade to sign someone valuable in FA

They don't have to. The money would just be redistributed to the players that are signed.
I think there's still a minimum salary you have to hit, but could be wrong.

It won't be Andre Miller. We signed C.J. Watson to be the back-up 1, we don't need Miller

The savvy vet has to be Landry. I think we offered the full MLE to him. It's hard to say why there is a delay in acceptance. But I have little doubt we are pushing hard for his services.

    Based on what?
Not heard him tied to us outside Indy fans/ local media, & his article where he said he'd like to play here.
Don't get me wrong, I'd like that, but not sure where you get that.

I'm just curious what makes you think this? Has there been any actual reports that link the pacers with talking to him? All I've seen is the Clippers, and that's where it sounds like where he'd most likely end up at this point...according to what's been reported

There are many reasons. Here is a quote from NBC:

“But I would play in Indiana for the Pacers, and I’m from Milwaukee, so I wouldn’t mind going back there. You just never know where I will end up. I’m more than happy to play anywhere as long as I am playing in the NBA.”

If you look at all his quotes, it's clear he wants to move east and play for a contender. But he also wants a long term deal (security). He would like his mother and grandmother to watch the games. It's obvious the Pacers could use a quality PF to replace Tyler and Copeland isn't the answer there. I am sure we are pushing hard for Landry. Just don't know where things stand.

That is him, not the team nor a source. He has said that in the past, and we have had interest in the past, no indications or rumors though in the present.
Ypu were specific in what you thought we offered like it was based off more then your speculation/ hope. That is what I was asking.

Lol, savvy vet, First player I thought of is Rondo.

    Bird turns Ainge onto Brad.
Bird wants Rondo, offers Hill to run offense with Brad.
Bird needs to find other team to dump Greens salary.
    Hill and Green is 11.5mil.
Bird is searching for that other wing with Hill and Green gone and only having rookie Hill, OJ and Lance for bench help.
Bird wanting a starting line up of Hibbert, West, Granger, George, Rondo.

Honestly, thats the first thing I thought of.

    How about Conrad Brunner:

Edit: BTW, he turned down 4M/yr from Golden State. MLE is just over 5M/yr. But of course, this is speculation. If I knew it was offered I would have said so. I said I think that was offered. Primarily because too many things make sense about it. We are really in need at a quality PF to backup West.

I get it, I've read all this. We ALL have.
My question/ comment (as was Ace E.Anderson's question to you) was: What FACTS or REPORTS is that comment based on? Answer is None. It is 110% your speculation & people talking "what if's". No news, no reports, updates, just talk radio/blog banter & your speculation. That's cool & all, but nothing based on "News".

What you're saying makes sense. I'm just going off of news that we have heard the last few days and that's that the clippers are "closing in" on an offer and/or a deal with Landry and the only other PF the pacers have been linked to is Copeland.

Landry is a good enough player that if he were the particular "savvy vet" that we were looking at, the reporter would say so IMO.

The fit between Landry and the pacers is very apparent, there just hasn't been any news to lead us to believe we are pursuing him so far
