Probably to Cope and Tony Allen. Or Cope and Paul Milsap? I think not pursuing Milsap is a mistake. We should at least send feelers out.
    you don't want West back?

We can't afford him and we know it. Pointless to waste his agent's time and our time.
Hey your lack of faith is disturbing brother. In a world where Heidi Klum and Seal got married and had children, and Lindsay Lohan still has somewhat of a film career still existing..ANYTHING can happen.

I think your overoptimism is what's disturbing. You really think Milsap will take less money AND a backup role?

With that offer to Tyler I don't see us finding a different back up, please God let someone make an outrageous deal we cant match

For the right price, I'd love to have Chris Copeland. As a SF and a PF, he'd be solid off the bench.
I wouldn't hate Copeland, he's a pretty versatile guy I enjoyed watching, but I just wish there were more to go on from him. Gerald Green had one pretty solid season, we saw how that went.

My concern is Copelands defense, if it will be a huge weak link. I dont recall him playing decent defense on Tyler.....I could be wrong

Copeland will play back up 3 if Granger starts. Or he can play back up 3 if Granger doesn't start. Granger can just slide over to back up 2.

I feel that the way Copeland plays, which is being able to shoot well, wouldn't go away and we need someone who can space the floor and shoot well coming off the bench. When Green was with the Nets, he needed the ball in the hands frequently to make things happen.

I said this in the CJ Watson thread too. Great, a PF that plays like a wing, WE GET IT!!! Otherwise Copeland is something they don't have, which is a stretch 4. He's not as bad defensively as he looked against BAMF in DWest. He's better matching up with the rest of the league at that position. His shooting alone brings a whole new dynamic to the 2nd unit, I have faith in Frank and Co to coach him up on the other things. He's obviously paid his dues with earning his way to the league.

I'd have to get past the Britney Griner thing, but this would be a good get.

Ironically, I'd play him against Bargnani when they play NY and feel pretty good about it, honestly.

He was atrocious on defense, regardless of the matchup. Got turned around/lost all the time. Fouls a lot too.

Ok...Copeland can play back up small forward if Granger starts. If Granger doesn't start, then he can still stay as back up small forward. Granger can just be our back up shooting guard.

I don't mind Copeland but he doesn't excite me that much. Not a true stretch 4. Not quick enough for the 3. There's a reason he was in Europe til he was 29 IMO

yeah like yall said above his D was a joke at least against the Pacers. Not sure he is a net plus when the games count (playoffs).

according to Marc Stein, Kyle Korver to Brooklyn is "in the bag"

That feather in the cap for Brooklyn has got to put them ahead of the Pacers as Eastern Conference favs.(behind Miami) At least on paper. We all know that the super teams on paper don't always pan out though.

Yes the thing I was thinking was that if Brooklyn signed Kyle Korver they would certainly put us in our place.

Korver has got to be the most overrated player by this board.

I just can't believe Brooklyn's put this roster together and they thought the best guy to coach them would be...Jason Kidd.

I wasn't talking about this one signing. It's this in addition to all the other signings. Korver is most dangerous when you have to help out down low obviously.

I feel that the Nets will be a mess. There's no LeBron on the team to keep it together.

Seems clear to me Prokhorov values name and starpower above all else. Perhaps in two years he'll realize it's time for a different approach.
