So Eric would come off the bench? No, Hill would start until Vaz takes the starting role. Then Hill will come off the bench playing pg and sg, this should be his role anyways and he should be getting 6mil per instead the crazy 8 he's getting.
Totally agree that Hill is best suited for a 6th man role, but not sure how he would react to that. I loved Vasquez in the draft! Great point guard skills at 6' 6"!

Can we please keep the fantasy trades to the trade forum and ONLY post real rumours and news here and try and discuss that?

I'm an EJ fan but I rather use our 14mil expiring on something else, Gortat plus Scola for 14mil expiring+ picks sounds good to me, Orlando is another team that could use the 14mil expiring.
I think I'm also leaning towards this. EJ is such a high priced risk right now.

No I wasn't including Gordon in the deal, b/c it just makes no sense we could do the deal financially... Don't forget Bird wanted to break the bank and go after him last summer and suddenly he wasn't coming back after the meeting with Simon... there is no way we are putting ourselves in position to go into the LT. If we trade DG it most likely be for young players on rookie deals/picks to teams that are under the cap and can eat some of his salary.

Simon can loosen the checkbook all he wants, we're not going to have a starting lineup of 3 max contracts and 2 guys that make well above average for their position, and then try and fill out the roster. You guys gotta be rational, we're not Miami where vets are going to come play for the minimum just to chase a ring.
I don't know about that being true. We're a contender now, we'd look more dangerous after a trade like that, and we were a win away from the Finals before that move. People go where they think they can win, if that's their priority.

Agreed... IF and I say IF there was a DG trade with NO, DG for Vaz and Rivers & pick(s) makes more sense. They are under the cap and can eat some salary, and bring in a leader for their young group. We would cut 11 mil and gain two solid pieces to our bench (actually Vaz might be able to start next to Hill).

Why would NO want to have two health issues in DG and Gordon on their roster? - If things go bad, WIGGINS! / If they stay healthy they could compete for the 8th seed.
I agree to an extent. Liked Rivers in college, but not sure now. Not making a trade proposal, but Granger would only go to Pelicans if Hornets can move Gordon to a 3rd team. Also don't see them parting with Vasquez...he's like their only PG

Then what pieces would we get back? They would draft Burke if they traded Vasquez.

Wait you liked him in college but ready to give up on him in his rookie year? Jeezh patience is key for young guys. Donnie is right about that to really decide on if a young guy can play it takes 2-3 years especially 20 year olds. Rivers may be the rare exception to this though. He was literally the worst player in the NBA last year.

I hated Rivers out of college and still do. I think the only person who hated the way Rivers played more than I did was Coach K. You can tell he was so happy he left, addition by subtraction.

Nuggets have lost their head coach, GM, VP that was probably gonna be the successor to the GM, and maybe Iguodala. That's rough.

No way. He should have been the Mavs starting pg all year but lost it to mike James. He sucks

So Hollins to the Clips, Joerger or Gentry to Memphis, if I'm Shaw do I even want the Nuggets job considering what's going on over there? The team is still pretty good, but management is losing it.

Unsure how Doc Rivers is a punk. He clearly likes coaching Pierce and KG. If Ainge and the Celtics organization are ready to rebuild, then what's wrong with Doc Rivers not wanting to rebuild

If you like Jordan and are okay with that contract, getting him and a couple of future 1sts is a pretty good haul for a guy about to retire.

The guy has 3 years left on his contract and is bailing because rebuidling's hard. I'm not saying it makes him a bad human being or something, but it does make him a massive front runner.

This Celtics thing is pretty crazy if it actually goes down.

Is there any precedent in the NBA for a team "trading" for a coach?

Would give them Rondo, Bradley and Bledsoe. I assume they want to get trade pieces and have flexibility. Guessing Deandre Jordan would be the other piece.

If Clippers aren't sure they can keep CP3, than they won't give up Bledsoe
