And just like that it is a done deal (I literally just saw this news on twitter, then after googling it saw it had been updated):
After Deadline‘s announcement that FOX was working on a 24 comeback, the online community came alive with buzz as to the validity of the New and what to expect. Executive producer of the show, David Fury, has finally confirmed the News and also shed more light on it.
In a response to Deadlines tweet, David Fury confirmed that the series would return but gave no inkling as to the characters that would be on-board As to how many episodes this upcoming season would have, Fury replied that it would be 12 episodes and for those that love the series that amount would suffice.
Prior to this announcement, Kiefer Sutherland had tried to get the movie version of the series kick-started. However for one reason or the other, that never got to happen so this definitely has to be a big deal for the actor whose series Touch just got cancelled after just two seasons.
I’ve heard of guys that didn’t go to bed because they stayed awake following Bauer through his 24hrs ordeal in the previous season and i’m sure this would be well received by them, and maybe not so well received by whoever they share the TV remote with…
Kiefer needs a job and Tom Cruise has work coming out his ears. It's a strange, unfair world we live in.
The relationship between Keefer and his gifted son in "Touch" made the show very hard to watch/ get into. I couldn't make it past a couple of episodes. Both were very hard characters to like.
I'm excited for the return of 24 though, I felt like the way they end the series with him just out there on the run left soo much stuff unresolved.
You can't get champagne from a garden hose.
