Uhhhh - why the hell would they take Pollard and Bender? I would fire my GM for doing this trade if I owned N.O.

Are you nuts!!! No way I'd trade Jamaal. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I'm not all that sold on the idea of trading Pollard either. I certainly wouldn't trade him for Baron Davis!

You guys are willing to trade Artest and make our team worse but you're not willing to trade Tinsley and Bender for B. Davis????

    I like Pollard.

That said, I'd throw him into any deal right now without too many qualms.

We've got 5 guys looking for time at 2 spots, and that's without Pollard.

Who is this refering to? Me? VA? IndianaMan? Grace? Of the people who have resonded to this thread, who's opinions match what you said here? Are you saying "You guys" as in everyone at PD? Is it you against the PD world? I'm completely confused.

As for me - I said that IF I OWNED N.O. I would think this trade was bad for N.O., therefore I would fire the GM. So I don't think you are talking to me, because nowhere in that is my own opinion on the trade revealed (other than the fact that I think it is unrealistic).

I wasn't talking about you Los Angeles, calm down...I was talking about those same people who want to get rid of Ron so fast but won't trade Tinsley and Bender for Baron Davis.

As far as I can tell, nobody in this thread meets that description.

    Get a grip, man.

Oh - and who is that? I think you're making this up, or imagining that multiple people who have posted on this thread have both those opinions.

I know we've had a rough start, and I want to give you a fair shake.

Still ... I don't think there's any call for lumping people together and claiming that "they" all believe the same thing. When I hear statement that begins "you guys" or includes "those people" I hear hate and anger and unfocused resentment.

In the future, try to be specific and reply to the actual statements posters make. It can keep the thread focused and freindly instead of general and combative. It also would encourage good discussions. In return, I won't take your comments so seriously. Coo?

I think some of you are missing the point about the rumored trade.

If the rumor is correct and talks do involve Artest for Davis, IMO there is only one conclusion that can be drawn. The Pacers want to rid themselves of Artest, and the cost of doing that business in order to get Davis apparently is Tinsley.

It's not a question of whether we'd be willing to give up Pollard and Bender, it's probably a question of getting rid of Artest.

Any consideration in all these Tinsley vs. Baron Davis stats about on the ball defense?

Jon Bender is from the New Orleans area and I would think locals would love to see Bender in a Hornets uniform. If the Hornets brass thought Bender would stay healthy, there is no doubt they would be very interested in a swap involving Bender. But at this point, who in the world would bet that he's going to be able to stay healthy.

THERE IS NO RUMORED TRADE. A Denver sports page put a sentence in one paper (unattributed to a source and unsigned by a reporter) that suggested it was common knowlege around the NBA that the Pacers and Hornets were talking about a Baron/Artest swap. No other NBA source has even heard a whiff of this. The players listed didn't come close to matching in terms of salary; it was just a "Hey, here's two guys that don't fit on their team. Switch 'em!" kind of trade. Nothing coming out of Indiana OR Nawlins makes this look like the kind of trade either team is thinking of. Unless you start hearing it from a semi-reputable source, don't even think about it again. I mean, even Vescey signs his work.

    THERE IS NO RUMORED TRADE.

Good, I don't want to trade Tinsley, not even for Davis.
