    Default Jim Jackson anyone?

What if New Orleans ends up cutting Jim Jackson because he obviously doesn't want to play there. They've suspended him so why not buy out his contract or something? Then maybe we can get him here and we can cut Edwards. I don't want to get rid of Curry, but I don't want him starting. I think Jim Jackson would be a great addition here in Indy.

He always plays big. I remember him in Sacramento, and I loved him very much there. He obviously plays hard, and he knows he is a role player. I agree, he would be a fantastic fit here in Indiana.

They talked about this on the Pacer post game show on WIBC last night. They said no because if he doesn't even show up to the Hornets what makes you think he will here.

Did someone tell them maybe he would come here instead of the Hornets because of the fact we aren't like 2-70?

As a Pistons fan, I was thinking he would look good in a Pistons uniform. Which, of course, begs the question: If Jim Jackson were cut tomorrow, and his choice of teams came down to Pacers vs. Pistons, which team would he choose? Honestly, I'm not sure.

I think he would choose Indiana because in Detroit, he wouldn't have a chance of starting. But then again, he would be a temporary starter here because when Stephen Jackson comes back, he'll be starting. I'd still really love to have him here because he can knock down shots and play a team oriented game at the same time. And Reggie could always use another old guy to play along with.

Yes, they did say that most likely he didn't report was because of how bad the Hornets are.

Wasn't he here sometime last season for a "visit"?

The Hornets wont cut Jackson as he is suspended indefinately and they dont have to pay him. (Suspensions, no pay, we should be well versed in this by now) Also Shinn is fairly fiscall minded ala he wont mind so much that his bottom line comes up looking better.

I was shocked that he was included in the deal. He has in the past sat out rather than sign to a non-contender. I don't know why the Hornets would have thought he would go there peacefully.

The Hornets don't care if he ever plays - they made the deal to cut salary.

I'm sure the Hornets are spending more time pondering what to do with next year's #1 draft pick.

They won't cut him. He would be a good fit here, but it would take a trade to pull it off. A trade that most likely would have to involve one of our shooting guards. I wouldn't trade any of ours for him.

The fact that he wants to win a championship??

That said, i'm lukewarm on him. I don't want to trade anyone, except Edwards.

That's what someone here was reporting summer '03 (shortly after Carlisle came back).

    Trade Bender for him.

We get rid of someone who CAN'T play and get someone who MIGHT play. And if he doesn't play, WE suspend him, reducing our salary even more.

At least then the Pacers are not paying for a player that cannot or will not play.

    Your logic is flawless.

However, I'm in favor of giving Bender another chance. Since he is due back on January 4th I believe, I would like to give him a chance to do something. This is a good opertunity for him, and us, to learn what he can do when he is relied on.
