    Default WNBA Draft

WNBA draft is on the 15th. On the mocks I have seen mocks and Kelly Faris is not in any of the three rounds of the draft. She won 4 HS
Championsships and two national titles. Not even drafted?
I know this is a Pacer forum but for those interested what do you know about players the Fever would take in the first round?

She's likely to go mid first round. She might fall as far as the Fever, but personally, I don't think she'll fall past 7 (New York.). The mock drafts that don't list Kelly are..uninformed.

Bothers me that she's graduating though. I wish Uconn had four more years of her. She's one of my all time favorite Uconn players..and I think most Uconn fans feel the same. (I know Geno does. She's probably #2 behind Diana.)

I would guess the Fever are looking for post players, but typically...as in the NBA draft, you take the best player available. And if Kelly is there, she's the best player available.

She graduated from Heritage when my son did so we were able to watch them play a few times. Faris would add some draw to the
    Fever like Katie Douglas does.

I'm good friends with Kelly's brother, Patrick, and have known the Faris' for 20 years. Patrick told me the Fever have been in contact with her and are interested. She'll be drafted in the first round.
    Here we come lottery?

Thanks for the info. I suspect the Fever will try very hard to bring her here.

Kelly Faris was one of twelve players invited to the draft.

there are three Indiana players among the top 12 prospects who have been invited to the Bristol, Conn. studios where the draft event will take place.
    ...
There are three Hoosiers among the top prospects – Skylar Diggins of Notre Dame, Kelly Faris of Connecticut and Alex Bentley out of Penn State.

So they can have a win/win selection and they take a smaller guard, hmmm. Connecticut obviously felt good about taking her 2 picks later.
A good player and local player.

I watch the Mercury more than the Sun..but I'm glad Kelly is staying in CT. (So glad..I may go to a few more Sun games because she's there.)

I was surprised Kelly fell as far as she did, but it wouldn't surprise me if Kelly's preferences were Indiana, Minnesota (with Maya Moore) and Connecticut.
