    Default RIP Roger Ebert

    http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment...est=latestnews

Roger Ebert, the nation's best-known film reviewer who with fellow critic Gene Siskel created the template for succinct thumbs-up or thumbs-down movie reviews, died Thursday. He was 70.

Ebert, a film critic for the Chicago Sun-Times since 1967, was also the first journalist to win a Pulitzer Prize for movie criticism. He died Thursday at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, his office said.

Only a day earlier, Ebert announced that he was undergoing radiation treatment after a recurrence of cancer.

"So on this day of reflection I say again, thank you for going on this journey with me. I'll see you at the movies." Ebert wrote on his blog.

I found a really nice essay that he wrote a while back that I read today. I never really cared about movie reviews, but that essay was right on.

His Armageddon review is one of the most funny things I've ever read:

Good film critic, but his views on science were a little too Victorian for my liking. I think I'll stick with 21st-century biology, Roger, thanks.

    Anyway, rest in piece, buddy.

I disagreed with many of his reviews, but I grew up with Siskel & Ebert. They will be missed.

Yeesh. Can you imagine if a gentile said those kinds of things about Jews running the country and needing to take over, the reverse of Gene? Hell, liquor him (the gentile) up and you'd get Mel Gibson's incident with the cops years ago.
