    Default Pacers/Suns Postgame Thread 3/30/13

We didn't look like the #1 defensive team tonight, but we were able to maintain a lead for pretty much the entire game and we got another W in the end!

We are now 20 games over .500 for the first time in a long time!!!!!!

We continue to take it one game at a time and with this in mind......

The defense was bad, no other way to put it. If we faced teams other than Charlotte, Phoenix or Sacramento we would have been in trouble.

That said, a win on the road is nothing to apologize about. Lets hope West got some rust off and we come out with a lot more defensive effort on Monday night.

Good game. JO turned the clock back for a bit there and Dragic look great. Pacers just outclass the Suns and it showed in crunch time.

I like Ian, but there is a big drop off in rim protection when he comes in for Roy. Roy seems to have 8 arms and just swats away everything near the basket. Ian can block some shots too, but he isn't as good at recovering as Roy.

Considering the rough night we had on D (plus Roy's obviously debilitating foul trouble in the second half) combined with some really strong performances by some Suns, coming out on top after two great wins makes this a good one.

Morris looked like Karl Malone out there, and West looked like Carl from Aqua Teen. Dragic was his usual poor man's Steve Nash self, and JO turned in a really strong second half. I'm not sure why Wesley Johnson is in the NBA, or why Beasley gets to play in both halves. They call Goran 'The Dragon', but Paul and Lance were on fire; and we know a dragon cannot be killed by fire. Let's take it to LA!

The game was over once Hibbert came back into the game with ~3:30 left, with 5 fouls... the complexion of their offense totally changed at that point.

He's so damn important for us, as JO was abusing Mahinmi, and they were getting all kinds of post action.

I would just like to mention that we are now 18-19 on the road this year. Against all odds, we do have a chance to finish with an above 500 record. Really have to finish strong though with wins @LAC, @Boston, @NY. Do have one road game in Washington.

I feel like Hill didn't read the scouting report. He guarded Gragic like he was a righty was just really confusing on to why.

But Washington has been a good home team after Wall's return. It will be a battle but I'm glad that we have a chance

Our D was bad tonight and the win was ugly but it's a very important win so I'll take it and be more than glad. Let's give some credit to the Suns, though. They played a nice game and Hunter made the right adjustments, imo.

In any case, this win ensures a winning Western road trip. I'm glad. Johanvil, do you believe more now?

PS: Ironically, this game is not going to be credited in our "wins by 3 or less" column

Hibbert is stepping it up for a serious post season run. Ian was a net negative tonight, sub par in D and some really stupid offensive moves. Someone has to be out there when Hibbert gets in foul trouble but I'd love to see Plumlee develop into that guy next year and make Ian expendable. I doubt it but we'll see.

Turning point of the year for Hibbert: his scuffle in the Warriors game where he actually stood up for himself... The one game suspension was TOTALLY worth it, as he's actually snapped out of his self confidence lapse.

Thank god. If he continues to play like this on D, we have a legitimate shot to advance further in the playoffs this year. The offensive post game is pure gravy.

It certainly wasn't his best game tonight, but for a backup 5, he's been pretty darn solid this year. Unfair to compare him to Hibbert. For some reason, Ian was taking too many risks tonight, and got caught quite a few times cheating on D.

I want to find a way to play the Warriors more often.

PG's turning point of the year: His 0 point game against the Warriors.

Hibbert's turning point of the year: His ejection against the Warriors.

They are a good team that can beat us but if more of our starters were to have a turning point against them, I wouldn't mind some losses

I'm gonna be "that guy" tonight... I would love to see JO come replace Pendergraph on our roster. I know there's all kinds of baggage, but he's always going to be a Pacer to me.

On the game -- take the win and run. Better team won, regardless of a less than stellar performance. Go get 'em in LA. Magic number is 3.

I've been saying for 3 years JO on this team would be awesome.

Honestly, I'm not 100% sure where he fits because I love Hansbrough and Mahinmi.

IF we were to let Hansbrough walk, I'd gladly bring in JO. Although i think he will retire after this season. He has been playing really well the past two months actually. In February dude averaged 11.4ppg, 8.5rpg, 1.9bpg, 57% shooting in 21mpg. Not as amazing this month at 9.9ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.1bpg, 48% shooting in 23mpg. Still damn good for a back up big though.

I will always be a JO fan though.

If JO were named John Doe I'd love to have him next year, but he ain't. I think he's hanging it up after this year anyway, it's been fun seeing him have a good year with Phoenix's voodoo training staff but I think he's getting close to checked out.

Well I was at the game, lots of fun, quite a bit more Pacers fans than I expected. First half was a little disappointing because they were crushing the Suns, just the missed free throws kept them in the game. 2nd half was much more intense and the crowd got into it more so it was pretty cool, Paul's dunk that didn't count was ridiculous, I laughed at my brother because he missed it. Roy was beastly in the paint, Paul hit some clutch shots in the 4th, was a good win against a bad team. I never felt like they were going to lose though sitting there. Overall fun game, and the Suns surely don't pack the stadium that's for sure, so not sure where those mystery tickets were sold.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."
