My Final Four is SLU, Wisconsin, Miami, and Kansas right now. That will probably change 1,000 times before Thursday.

Miami is a very chic pick for the Final Four coming out of the East. That makes me incredibly happy. Indiana plays better when they feel slighted.

I just like how Miami matches up vs IU. They are a complete team and can play any style. The way Larkin has come on puts them over the top for me. You guys can put Vic on him but then Scott has an advantage on Hulls or Yogi. Both are really good teams, and don't have many weaknesses. I hope they play that would be a great game to watch.

Miami has been underrated all season bout time they get their due.

I just think Miami is getting really hot at the right time. They looked unbelievably good today. I think the East regional could be anybody. There are a lot of really talented and well-coached teams. After the Midwest it's the most intriguing region.

A word of caution to anyone who watched that Miami/UNC tilt today--the Tar Heels don't even pretend to play a lick of defense. Miami is good, well coached, have an excellent point guard, and are very experienced (except no one on their roster has been to the NCAA Tournament before). But they were also shaky at times against lesser opponents. They will be tough for sure, and as an IU fan if we made it that far I would just as soon play someone else, but I have concerns about Miami.

Just curious as to why Oregon got a 12 seed? I believe they won/tied the regular season PAC 12 title, and wins the tournament, yet was tied for lowest ranked team in the conference.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Signed up. Debating on actually trying to win or having IU lose to a 16 out of spite.

I think the loss of Dominic Artis hurt them, some logistical issues knocked them down a line, and the committee showed they have no respect for the Pacific 12.

Oregon as a 12 is goofy as hell granted, but they at least get to stay out west and open in San Jose. And really, the Pac 12 kinda sucks.

Miami will try to run with IU and no team in the country can run with IU. I'm actually more concerned about squaring off against Cuse's zone.

    My final four:

    IU
    Mi. St
    Oh. St
    VCU!

    Also, ouch:

    IMPORTS AND EXPORTS
Look at the map, then look at the rosters of the 68 NCAA tourney teams. You'll see some hotbeds that have produced a lot of high-level talent – and a lot of that high-level talent has been willing to leave home to play college ball. Among the hottest locales:

The state of Indiana (50). The All-Indiana Export Tournament Team: Mason Plumlee, Duke; Deshaun Thomas, Ohio State; Gary Harris, Michigan State; Glenn Robinson III, Michigan; Scott Wood, North Carolina State. There have always been more good players in the state than the local schools can take, but the surplus is especially high at the moment – and at least one local school wishes it had some of those guys.
Program hurt by the poaching: That would be Purdue, which missed the Big Dance for the first time in seven years.

I don't know what makes you say this. IU excelled at slowing down Burke in btoh games against Mich. We also shut down Appling against Mich St. Our PG defense is our biggest defensive strength.

Louisville is good and they beat a lot of tourney teams and top 50 teams, but I don't think they have beaten any top 10 teams. Their best win? Marquette. That doesn't seem as impressive to me as going on the road and winning at OSU, UM, and MSU.

Do I expect them to lose early? No. I just think the bandwagon of having them as prohibitive favorites to win it all is a little suspect.
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

But it's also essentially the same team that went to the Final Four last year. They are very experienced.

Put Oldiapo on MCW and IU will beat them easily.

And Marquette is Louisville's best win just based on where teams were seeded.
