Like everyone else here, I saw the title of the thread, came in and immediately voted NO!
Only now do I realize that I was voting that Lance is NOT the future at SG, which he obviously IS.
Mark me down as another vote CHANGED TO YES.
Very poorly worded title/question.
Yeh, the thread title needs to be changed really bad.
Is Lance Stephenson the answer at SG?
I'll answer, he could be. He has made a huge leap forward this season, very unexpected by me at least. I'm not sure what his peak is going to be. I just hope we can sign him fairly cheap so we can see what he can be while still wearing a Pacer uniform.
"Just look at the flowers ........ BANG"
I think they also hate his guts for challenging Lebron's greatness last year. It will make it all that much sweeter if someday very soon if he can play efficiently against him and beat him in a playoff series.
As good as LeBron was in high school, which was phenomenal, Lance was just as good. You don't do what he did in New York competition if you aren't.
Obviously that hasn't translated to the same level of success in the NBA, but the talent is there just like Lebron. It would be so much sweeter to have the diamond in the rough that slowly becomes a superstar than the one that was crowned as such and gifted to you via free agency. As talented as Lance is, the chances he will ever be as good as Lebron are slim. But there is still a small chance if Lance lives up to his full potential, but that is a dream. My reality based best case scenario is Lance is just part of a team that is better than Miami's, and he becomes a young blossoming star that can match up effectively with their superstars head to head along side Paul George. Maybe not as good as Miami's duo, but maybe their kryptonite.
Kravitz: why is Roys numbers down this year?
Bird: Well its not Lance stealing his rebounds this year.
He's developed a lot this year and I really like that. I understand why people are overly excited about him, it's exiting to see a 2cd round pick develop to this point. I really didn't think he'd make it in the nba at the beginning of last year, now I see him as a solid bench player and possibly a starter in the role he has now. I do think he's very over rated by most. I see Lance as not great at anything but he's a good player. I don't see him as becoming a great scorer, defender or distibutor. I've seen people refer to him as a future all star and say things like we need to keep money free for him as a free agent. I don't think Lance will ever see an all star game and I don't think he'll even get a full mle offer as a free agent. I like him and he's a good guy to keep if we can afford Lance at 3 mil or so I hope he's here long term.
You can't get champagne from a garden hose.
You threw me by the title of the thread vs the question on the poll. I would have voted no.
Dang it, I meant to say YES! Lance is one of the only players in our team that DRIVES THE BALL and it's afraid of doing it! If he make better decisions at passing, I would say
Lance > PG
Lance Stephenson is not overrated on these boards. Do you even watch the games? I don't care about stats ... do you think Troy Murphy is better than David West too?
Bring Danny off the bench
If we keep this team together as is, i would be happy if he became as good as Danny Green of the Spurs. A guy that plays smart defense and can, on occasion, have a game where he lights it up.
Maybe he's slightly overrated on this board, but you have to remember he was projected as a zero coming into this season. I used to do a first pump whenever he would make a jump shot. Now I'm not satisfied if he doesn't score double figures.
Lance is kind of impossible to judge rationally, for me at least. I give people on this board a pass to praise Lance in the same way you don't disagree when someone tells you how smart their child is.
I think this is just a knee-jerk reaction from Sunday. Lance had the #1 athlete out of 7 billion in the world guarding him. Lebron defended him well and seldom allowed a good look. I thought Lance defended Wade well, he just kept hitting really tough shots.

I'm not voting on this one. I wish there was a "Maybe" option.
He fits in very well with this team and I think he's more like the role player that Deshawn Stephenson was with the Mavericks when they won the Championship than he is a potential All-Star in the making that some think he is. I'd love for Lance to be the answer at SG but I look at several other players around the league and realize that there are several of them that could probably duplicate his production and impact.
I've decided to no longer fall in love with individual players. I support the Pacers as a whole but I'm not going to be swayed by a player's potential anymore.
He's not overrated on his high-production nights.
I really like Lance. He has a great upside, but to win a championship, to me he's not the answer. I would rather have Granger in the game with PG and Hill in the back court. Mostly of experience and Granger is a really solid shooter. Yes, Lance is quicker and more explosive on the offensive end. But, Granger has a better shot, bigger size, and they're equal defenders
