If someone really wants to have sex with Lt. Commander Data, would that make them a dataphile?

Yes, I'm quoting you because your comment about leaving the planet got me thinking about outer space. So it's your fault.

    What about jabronies?
First time in a long time, I've been happy with the team that was constructed, and now they struggle. I blame the coach.

Wait, it's that serious? I've heard of this but just thought it was guys that watch My Little Pony. Which is weird enough, but I just figured hey maybe it's a good show or something so whatever. But falling in love with fictional characters isn't liking a tv show, that's a mental illness.

Wait... You've never had the hots for a character on a TV show?
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

You ever see a thread and have no idea what the title means and so don't click it... but then finally you've read all the other threads except that one.... so you click it... and you find yourself understanding what Alice must've felt like in that rabbit hole?

That would be me right now...

This is a topic that I had no idea could even exist in this or any parallel universe prior to now.

FWIW, I would bet that Justin Bieber is a brony.

I really am having a hard time believing this... It sounds like a discarded SNL skit script.

Ok... this topic sent me to Google for a little bit and it seemed a lot more tame than what the OP has described. At least in the first few things I saw posted about it... that's when I decided to go read about race cars and stuff instead.

That's about what I imagined most of them were like, basically. I mean in any genre the people willing to go to conventions like that are usually the more 'die hard' or 'extreme' fans, so I'm sure there are less intense fans out there as well, but this essentially strikes me as a different flavor of nerd, ultimately.

Instead of being really into Star Trek or Star Wars or Doctor Who, they're into My Little Pony. Never seen the show and don't plan to, but as someone who grew up into Star Trek/Wars and Lord of the Rings (and I used to play some D&D in H.S.) I can kind of see where they're coming from... to a point.

Clearly seems to make them happy, so good for them. Strikes me as different and off-beat, but harmless.

    That's a good perspective, Hicks.

I just find it hilarious that a bunch of grown men who have more likely gone to sports events dressed as their favorite players are denigrating teenagers for cosplaying.
