Sports teams will always let you down. I'm a big fan but I decided a long time ago not to let an outcome of a game affect my well being. I'm not out there playing so there is nothing I can do about it

I've been emotionally invested in this team since a small child. Back in my childhood years I cried, but now as an adult I will come here on PD and vent, go on the pacers facebook page and vent and then stay away from media outlets like ESPN etc. When I wake up the next morning it STILL bothers me but then I start looking forward to the next game. At least we don't have to wait a week for the next game like we would after a Colts loss.

I instantly get on twitter and see if any of my friends are talking trash about the Pacers and if they are i cuss them out. Also the player that does the worse i usually get all mad and blame them and hope they get traded.
If they win though i flip through all sports channels to see what they have to say and visit RealGm see if people are talking Pacers.

It depends on the loss. If it's a loss that the team tried its best but was outclassed by the opposition I usually say "eh, they did their best" and go on with my life. For example, I wasn't affected at all by the Clippers loss. Roy wasn't playing and we made an effort to come back. So, I was ok.
But if the loss is hard to swallow (yesterday for example or the Denver loss) then I watch anime. Or listen to some Black Metal. Or play 2k if I'm in Athens. Or play League of Legends.
But lately it is mostly anime. Fairy Tail in my particular.
How do I cope?? I take blood pressure medicine of course.
You know how hippos are made out to be sweet and silly, like big cows, but are actually extremely dangerous and can kill you with stunning brutality? The Pacers are the NBA's hippos....Matt Moore CBS Sports....
Since I don't get to watch most games live because of work, my routine is pretty similar whether we win or lose. Box score, postgame thread, highlights, onto the next game. If I'm watching and we lose, I just shut it down for the night and come back tomorrow.

Don't wanna hear or talk about it neither on the Internet or TV. I watch a film or a TV show in order to completely forget about it (not possible though but helps as a distraction) and thinking the next game can't come soon enough.
I handle it much better than I used to. I guess I've matured.
Depends on the type of loss. I can take a blowout loss better. Ones I hate are like last night where the pacers have a nice lead in the 4th quarter. I would say thinking back over the season the two losses that have been the toughest was last night and in Denver.
I throw up.
Unless it is a game that is seemingly in hand but just ended up giving away, or
lost due to getting robbed by the refs, I generally don't get bothered by a loss
for very long (if any). Just look forward to the next game and hope they don't
lose that one too.
And if I do for some reason feel like ranting after a loss, usually just turn on
1070 and listen to The Great Eddie White do it for me.
1. Pretend it never happened and go about my merry way OR
2. Watch Hell's Kitchen or Kitchen Nightmare and remember that it can always be worse - I could have a mad British guy yelling at me!

I can handle most losses very easily. The few games per year where the Pacers blow the game, like last night, I get extremely disappointed. Oftentimes, playoff seeding, and how deep you will go in the playoffs, is vey much dependent on avoiding blown games during the regular season.
I invade Bulls forums.
No single loss in the regular season is that big of a deal because there are just so many games, so I usually don't get too upset. I was at the game last night and am upset that we lost, but in the NBA you just gotta shrug it off and worry about the next game.
Now the playoffs are obviously a different story.......
If it's a home game the PD post-game gather venting and rehashing is a necessary requirement.
If it's an away game my wife usually locks me in a closet until bedtime.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Or throw in a first-round pick and flip it for a max-level point guard...
I don't get nearly as upset as I used to. I often don't get too high or too low after a game anymore.
I think it's a combination of things. Age, maturity, perspective. Those three words basically encapsulate it.
At some point I finally 'got over it' in terms of the game/league/team itself to where I still like it quite a bit, but I'm not 'in love with it' the way I used to be and I don't take it as seriously as I used to take it. Ultimately it's just a bunch of people playing a game at a highly competitive level, nothing more, and if the Pacers win it doesn't improve my life, nor does a loss diminish my life. And we're dealing with a league primarily concerned with money and entertainment value ahead of the integrity of the game, so it's no sacred cow to me.
The playoffs still kind of bring that stuff out in me, but the playoffs were always more intense than the regular season for me; now both just don't get me as worked up as before.
Injuries, fights, off court troubles, long term negative trends (when it becomes pretty clear a team or certain players just aren't that good or something like that), and playoff exits are what bum me out the most these days.
