Question How do you cope with a Pacers loss?

Anymore I've found that when the Pacers or one of my other teams loses, I tend to vent a little online, then completely distance myself from sports news for at least a couple of days. Seems to help me from getting too down since I tend to be pretty emotionally invested in my sports teams.

How do you cope with a Pacers loss? Ever broken something in frustration that you wish you hadn't?

I definitely don't watch SportsCenter. I like to watch something on Netflix thats completely unrelated to sports.

I usually go for a run or at least a walk if its late and I don't want to have to shower again. I try to avoid talking to people immediately after because I know I'm about to be more venomous than is called for.

Over the years I've lost many game and the teams I root for have lost many games. I never get too high over a win nor too low over a loss. Teams lose, my teams lose. When I coached my kids I always told them that i don't worry about losing a game, but I'll set up nights trying to figure out how to win the next time.

    What loss?
If games are won and lost on a calculator and piece of paper, then why do we bother to play them?

I tend to try to back my team and proceed to get reamed out for it.

    That's the trend of late.

But in my younger days, yea, I would have DAYS where I was in a funk for certain games.

After Reggie's last game I was darn near inconsolable for weeks. It was pretty bad.

Avoid anything sports related for at least the evening.
"We've got to be very clear about this. We don't want our players hanging around with murderers," said Larry Bird, Pacers president.

Sometimes I hop on 2k and beat somebody online with the Pacers to make it feel like the loss never happened.

I don't really care about losing (or winning) a regular season game because so much of it is predicated on luck. The line between winning and losing is so razor thin that you're gonna land on both sides throughout the season. It's always nice to win but it doesn't change my opinion of the team really.

Having said that, I have thrown some epic temper tantrums after losses in the playoffs.

I watch my Pittsburgh Pirates play baseball and I immediately forget about the loss after banging my head against the wall after the 17 strike outs.

Blame anyone and everyone, say to myself that Vogel needs to be fired, wonder how anyone actually thought the Pacers were good to begin with. Then about an hour later I'll get over it and get ready for the next game.
