Just found this video. I'm assuming this is where the Granger trade idea came from. Skip to about the 2:12 mark.
Doesn't look like it's a real rumor or anything.
that plays a lot like an ESPN producer said "hey, trade deadline's this week. let's put together a spot showing how the Trade Machine works and get a bunch of traffic to the site."
Makes no sense for the Jazz..
As the poster you quoted said, "I'm not seeing anything special" from those numbers you posted.
Hayward is a pretty good player, I always think of a quicker/more athletic version of Mike Dunleavy (pre/knee injury) which isn't too bad at all.
Hayward would be perfect for our bench. As would Milsap. Frankly this trade is just a tease because it would make us clearly the best team in the East other than Miami and a front court rotation of West, Hibbert, Milsap, and Mahinmi would be absolute murder on the Heat.
The guy in the video pretty clearly said that this trade will probably not happen but they just used it as an example of what could happen as the trade deadline looms.
rather try and get bledsoe
You mean Utah should (which was a previous rumor), or the Pacers should? If you are speaking of the Pacers, why would you rather have one pretty good player as opposed to two?
Nothing wrong with Bledsoe, but I'd rather have the two guys from Utah - IF Millsap signs an extension.

Can Milsap signing an extension be part of the deal? Or is it required he have his free agency this summer?

I'd rather us try to get Bledsoe. Bledsoe>Hill IMO

Pacers trade for Milsap and Hayward.
Flip Milsap + filler for Bledsoe + filler
if clippers go for granger, it would be bledsoe + someone else to make salaries work. if lac wanted a backup pg we can send them dj. i read where clippers fans are growing tired of caron butler so add him in and salaries would be pretty close.
bledsoe + butler for granger + dj + hans (if they wanted)
We cannot give them Granger + DJ + Hans. The salaries do not work.
If we were to include DJ + Hans ($19,613,865) they would have to cut $7,379,215 off their books. So, they would need to add Lamar Odom as well to make the salaries work.
However, Danny Granger for Bledsoe + Butler + Trey Thompkins would work.
If were going to make such a deal I would look to include Orlando.
This works financially:
Pacers receives: Paul Millsap and JJ Redick
Utah receives: Danny Granger + Pacers 1st
Orlando receives: Gordon Hayward and Tyler Hansbrough
Obviously by making this deal were going all-in this year as both guys are free agents this summer and theres a good chance we won't be able to keep both. I think Orlando makes the deal. They are probably losing Redick for nothing this summer so getting Hayward on a rookie deal is a good return. Tyler is probably just a rental for them. Utah is the wildcard. If Danny was 100% healthy and had no knee concerns I think they make the deal but right now I doubt they go for it unfortunately.
If getting Bledsoe and butler meant taking on odom for a year I would be all in for that deal while only losing granger

Find the 10 differences
I still view Granger as the best offensive option of the package, so I still think it's good value for both teams. Wouldn't do it anymore though. We need the scoring and experience more than we need another very good allround wing who can score allright and Millsap is expiring and not that much needed with West here.
