    Default All time Pacers team

    Starters:
    PG- Mark Jackson
    SG- Reggie Miller
    SF- Roger Brown
    PF- Mel Daniels
    C- Rik Smits

    Bench:
George McGinnis, Rick Mount, Dale/Antonio Davis, Jalen Rose, Jermaine O'Neal
    "We want Miami"

Rick Mount was a fine college player but his pro career, especially as a Pacer, was pretty much worthless (40% shooter in 2 seasons).

If you want a Boiler on there, pick the far superior ABA player, Billy Keller. And Mel never played PF a second of his life.

PG Mark, SG Reggie, SF Roger, PF George, C Mel

bench: Rik, Dale Davis, Billy Knight, Chuck Person, Freddie Lewis, Jermaine, Bob Netolicky, Billy Keller, Derrick McKey

soon to be added: Paul George

Hmm. I'd have to think real seriously about starting Buse over Jackson at PG, if just for the defense. Definitely Mel at center, Big Mac at PF, Reggie at SG, Rajah at SF.

Here's a table showing the 17 Pacers who have made all-star teams. Mark Jackson next made an all-star team as a Pacer, whereas Buse made 2 and Freddie Lewis 3.

I'll take Slick PinkhamS selections. The only possible difference might be in the bench, where I might be tempted to work in Don Buse.

Buse vs. Freddie Lewis vs. Billy Keller was a tough choice and I figured I had to take two.

I debated putting on Clark Kellogg just to get ChicagoJ's attention.

You lost all credibility naming Rick Mount who was very mediocre indeed. Also, listing Mel Daniels as a PF is wrong because he was a PF. I would have Mel as the starting center and Smits on the bench. McGinnis would be the PF although he was more like a SF. I would also put Freddie Lewis on this team. I would not have Jalen Rose on it. I would put Granger on in his place. ...

    All time defensive:

    1. George Hill
    2. Ron Artest
    3. Derrick McKey
    4. Dale Davis
    5. Jermaine O'Neal

Paul George is just about to get there.

My all-anything-positive Pacer team will never have Ron Artest on it. That's like having a turd in the punch bowl.

Best punch ever . . . for the few minutes it was turdless.

    Your opinion.

IMO there is more to playing the position than piling up assists in the regular season against weak teams. How many assists was Jackson earning from the bench in the fourth quarter of so many key playoff games.

There is a difference in playing in the ABA and the NBA too. Buse's best days were behind him when he came here. ...
