    Default When McGrady Opts Out...

Will the Magic get a better S&T offer than Harringon/Bender for TMac?

Watching the All-Star game made me REALLY want a third cog.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

I'd sure think they'd get a better offer than two reserves.

Be fair. Al's not exactly a typical "reserve". He'd start on many teams.

He's still a reserve. There are plenty of guys out there that could start for other teams, but can't cut it on theirs as a starter for whatever reason. There's no way the best offer Orlando would get is Harrington and Bender.
Put words in my mouth more often, please.

All I said was he's not a normal reserve, and probably could be a starter for a lot of teams. Didn't say he's the best offer the Magic could get. Didn't say how good he'd be as one.

You really take some things too personally.
Well, I guess I get tired of it.

Why would the Magic want Harrington if they have Gooden and Howard, and Bender at all for that matter?
And once again, I never said differently.

Now, now *soothingly*. It's just that there are a TON of players who could be starters. Look at Desmond Mason on the Bucks. Look at what Rip Murray did with Seattle when Ray Allen was out. Look at Bobby Jackson - Mehmet Okur, Troy Hudson, etc.

Is Harrington one of the better reserves in the league? Sure. But he's still a reserve. Orlando's gonna want more.

    McGrady has his money.

What the heck? Tell him if Malone and Peyton can sign for peanuts to get a chance at a ring, then he can sign with the Pacers for the MLE to get a good chance at a ring ater he opts out.

I'm sure we can find a roster spot somewhere, right?

Just because a player is a reserve shouldn't automatically downgrade is value. Jamison is a reserve and still a great talent. Brad Miller wants to come of the bench when Chris comes back. When this happens will you downgrade his value?

Al is the third best player on the team right now, I know its not a popular opinion but if we loose him that is a major blow.
The Magic would be crazy to take trade straight up but Donnie would be stupid to give away the farm just to bring in TMac.

I think T-Mac will end up in Denver. T-Mac and Carmello will make a championship level one-two punch.

Well, IF T-Mac opts out I think he ends up in Houston.

JVG is just about tired of Franchise. I think he trades Franchise and a small piece (like Jimmy Jackson) to Orlando for T-Mac.

The Magic won't have too many trading partners where they can get anything close to equal talent back but this is something that would work - and Orlando hasn't had a decent PG for quite some time now.

But I'm not so sure T-Mac opts out.
