    Default Pacers/Heat Postgame Thread 2/1/13

TACK ON ANOTHER WIN! 13 STRAIGHT at BLF!

We are absolutely a team that can contend/win a title this season and/or in the near future for a long time.

People like Jon Barry are just fooling themselves, thinking the Heat are the GOAT and unstoppable. There are bigger and stronger teams that will come and unseat them as the defending champs and we are one of them!

    "Miami was coasting."

"They quit when we got ahead, we aren't really that good."

"We've won 13 in a row at home, meaning we're even more likely to lose the next one because all streaks eventually end."

There, I just saved a few posters the need to write anything.

Great performance. West had it going and we kept getting him the ball. Lance and PG both made LeBron and Wade work on defense and defended them pretty well for the most part. Stopped anyone else from really getting it going offensively. +9 on the boards, 55% fg, only 12 to's, prevented the Heat from ever really making a run to get back into the game. Love the confidence and poise that they showed.

    Awesome win tonight!

And to do it on a national stage like this we'll be getting more national coverage now...

My only concern is how this team is going to handle George/Granger when Granger returns..

Sorry to say it, but I sure didn't miss Gerald Green tonight. Welcome back, Sam.

Finally, I can post. WTF, wouldn't let me type anything in the box for a couple of minutes.

    Great win!

    West is a BAMF
Lance not only scored some points, but played pretty stellar D on Wade. He was just out of control those final minutes. Gotta clean that up.
PG is Boss. It's the PG show baby!
Hans played 12 beautiful min. Only West being other worldly kept Hans on the bench.

My goodness, you all realize this team will go sink quick if Hill goes down. I don't trust DJ or Ben for extended minutes. Glad Hill was ok.
Lance + Starting SG = Awesome

    Now really free Lance!

I missed the last minute of the broadcast, but I have to assume Jon Barry said "good job, good effort" sometime before the feed cut out. I've never seen a national announcer disagree with so many calls. Not even Jeff "That's a flop" Van Gundy.

Before the tip-off Jon Barry said he never saw this Heat team as focused as they were during the shoot-around.

Jon Barry is a moron. He truly showed what he was about tonight siding with Miami on every call or missed call. Didn't matter.

I loved his comment with just under a minute when he says, "The Pacers will win if they just hang on here." I guess that's why he works at ESPN.

If the Pacers had homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs, they'd probably win the title. Unfortunately, they have to play games on the road. But they might win 35-36 games at home this season.

    That's another amazing stat:

Ray Allen has only had three scoreless games... his entire career.

Two of them have been against the Pacers... this year.

I like the way we match up with Miami. We can defend them, and with Granger, we will have an additional quality defender and scorer to throw at them. But the real kicker is that we are bigger and rebound much better. Without doing something by the trade deadline, I don't think Miami can change that.

Personally, I'm not saying I feel comfortable come playoff time against the Heat, but I am liking our chances. Let's get Granger back and see where we are by the end of the rgular season.

Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

DWest absolutely gobbles up Chris Bosh and the Heat "big men" for breakfast.

They're afraid of us because they know we can beat them.

The Pacers team that went to the Finals only lost five home regular season games. I think we can get close to that record.

I think this team was built to go up against Miami. They've been the target the whole time.

In other news, at some point we've got to be in Miami's heads, right? Has this already happened?
