Not entirely sure what you are asking.

Unlike TNT on Thursday night or ABC on Sunday, ESPN does not have exclusive rights to the games they broadcast. So the game will be on both ESPN and FSNI in the Indy area. A couple of weeks ago when the pacers played the Knicks at home it was on Thursday night and TNT broadcast and that prohibited FSNI from broadcasting because TNT has exclusive rights to their games.

Is that what you are asking?

This is the first Pacers game I remember in a long time that had both a non-NBATV national broadcast coinciding with a local broadcast.

I'm confused by the question as well. If Fox Sports has the rights to broadcast the game, why wouldn't they?

I would prefer watching on FSN. The broadcast on ESPN for the Grizz game was pretty terrible. They lack a lot of knowledge about the Pacers (and Grizzlies) it seems.

Not everybody gets ESPN. I know its a small percentage. I think this is a holdover from the Channel 4/59 days were the national cable broadcast was still available to the local market over the air.

Pretty sure in Chicago that there is nothing I can do to get the Pacers own broadcast of FSI/ FSMW on Friday night. ESPN is my only option but FSI/ FSMW are alternatives to ESPN within x miles of the arena.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Any games broadcast on ESPN (even in the first two rounds of the playoffs) can also be broadcast on the local broadcast. Not unusual for teams on ESPN a lot.

Yeah that was ESPN's 4th or 5th crew. Against the Heat we'll get number 1 or two. Either Hubie Brown or Jeff Van Gundy. So I am watching ESPN for sure.

Hubie I think did 3 of the games in the playoffs between the Heat and Pacers and JVG did game 6. Hubie is the best ever IMO, I always learn something. I mean who can't enjoy hearing him talk about the "painted area"

Negative. It has been confirmed that we get Mark Jones and Jon Barry, two of the worst play by play guys I've ever heard.

Indeed. Jones is the one that did the Memphis game on MKLJr. day w/ Mullin. Jones said Lance Stephenson was a rookie. Mullin called Stephenson "Lance Armstrong" and called D. West "Mark West". Between the 2 of them I had to mute the tv. I loved Mullin as a player but he SUCKS as a commentator.

The ONLY ESPN crew I can stand is featuring Hubie. Usually Tirico and Hubie.

Van Gundy is ok because he doesn't have a filter, so he'll actually be honest about **** poor officiating/coaching/playing, as opposed to announcer speak.

Can't stand Breen (BANG!). Doris sucks. Pasch is a moron.

Schulman is good, Tirico is ok, and I'd say that's it for me. Lot of guys that think they're more important than the game, ala Joe Buck.

or a guy like Jon Barry who is delusional about how good of an NBA player he was. He acts like he was ever a pivotal cog on an important team, and he has a firm grasp on the jock straps of all the big stars of the league. I can't stand the guy.

Might as well just use the Heat broadcast

Yeah, I know. That's what is goofy about the continuation of that old rule. Are there still "local channels only" versions of cable-tv packages? Having been on DirecTV and owning the NBA LP and NFL ST for like 17 years each, I have no idea if that's even an option any more.

I'm probably one of the few but I really like when Doris calls games (don't really like her as a sideline reporter). She actually knows the game pretty well and obviously doesn't get to use former playing days as a crutch like Barry and some of the other garbage ex-players,

I have to work that night. I'll probably DVR both broadcast , watch ESPN 1st but if it is horrible switch it over. I like Chris and Quinn or Austin but I like to hear other announcers comments on Pacers now and then. Its really sweet if the Pacers are beating a TNT - ESPN fav team.

Nah... Then all you'll hear is how the Heat are just having a bad game or someone is sick, etc. God forbid that a team could actually figure out how to play them effectively!
