I don't recall seeing Murphy on a NBA roster this year. He peaked under JOB, and went down the tubes quickly after being traded. Seems like he went to NO, Nets, and the last I knew the Lakers last season.
He was with Dallas until Dirk returned, not sure if he's still there or not. But he was having his fair share of time at the beginning of the season, with Brand out of shape and Kaman struggling with injuries.

@AschNBA: @MikeWellsNBA So Derrick Rose is ahead of Danny Granger? Rose is practicing now, Thibs divulged.
I would be very surprised if this turned out to be the case.

The updates for Rose are much clearer and official. We get Granger news during the FSIN broadcast. Makes me nervous...
Are they more official or is it just a result of more pressure being put on the Bulls to produce a timeline since Rose is a top 10 player in the league and chicago is a large market?

You know this may be the one time in life where the comparison might be unfair to Troy Murphy.
Nah, I watched Charlie for a few years before the pros. Neither one is very good and both are overpaid...but there was something about Charlie that's loveable.

Troy. Nope. Granted, that could just be because he was JOB's pet...

I think that's just because Rose is better, more important to the team, and more popluar. ESPN doesn't give a **** about Granger.

Just got back from the game. The Pistons played so bad they made Roy Hibbert look like an all-star.

An interesting thing that people who watched the game on TV didn't see. Some woman turned down two free tickets to Friday's game against Miami for what ended up being a David West autographed jersey. Just incredible. Some guy in front of her snatched them up immediately when offered.
lol You should of came over and talked to Seth and I. We were hoping for history the Pistons were near setting the record for worst FT % in a game. Luckily Kim English came to the rescue.

I'm not gonna lie I would of took the West jersey too he is a bad ***.

I felt like we played like **** tonight missed rotations and really lazy at times good thing we had chicken noodle soup as Kenny Smith would say. We have to play a lot better if we want to beat Miami PnR defense was bad tonight.

Lance was so fun to watch tonight dude is just a good basketball player I would of loved to play with a guy like him in HS. Dude just knows the game and makes a lot of great plays on offense. His defense wasn't good tonight but he more than made up for it on offense and the glass.

Wasn't one of andres better games tonight. He seems to have a high impact game followed by a low impact game, though part of that is due to the fact he plays with guards that don't get him the ball, aside from Bynum.

It's frustrating to watch him and Monroe basically have to create everything on their own. I love knight as a scorer and defender but he flat out sucks as a passer.

He certainly is out of position more often than he should be, but he also typically overcomes that by erasing the mistakes of everyone else. Not the case tonight.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Maybe, but I still get the feeling there is more uncertainty with Granger.

Get rid of DJ for whatever you can, and slide Lance to the backup pg. I think a lineup of Lance/Green (OJ)/Young/Tyler/Ian wouldn't be any of a drop off. Couldn't be big, if there was.

Stop trying to force feed Hibbert to open the game up. Players resorted to standing around and watching his slow moves. I would much rather see Hibbert subbed out early, and then put back in against 2nd stringers, then try to get him post looks. The other guys are much more important to the offense than Roy.

No doubt that Rose is a much bigger name than Granger, but the information the Bulls are putting out there seems to be more specific and encouraging than what the Pacers have put out so far, ESPN aside. The Bulls just said that Rose has had full contact in practice. OTOH, the Pacers haven't mentioned Granger doing full contact practices yet. I'm just looking at what the teams themselves have said. It doesn't have anything to do with ESPN. Right now, I would bet that we see Rose on the court before Granger.

Maybe I'm just cynical by nature, but I've followed sports for a long time and have seen too many instances of a player being just "a few weeks away" from coming back, only to not come back at all. I'm not getting my hopes up about Granger until we at the very least hear that he has resumed full contact in practice.

Some Team is going to take Stuckey's contract off of the Piston's hands. I think that Stuckey just needs a change in scenery.

That means most likely the Pistons have to take back salary where as they can just cut him, pay him 4 mil, and have less salary to pay out thus saving money.

We've got over $30 million in cap space. We can afford to take a little back if the price is right.

    Random note:

I met and shook hands with Austin Croshere last night while I was in line to get a beer. He was just walking by, not drinking on the job.

That's all I can think of in that situation. Ben Gordon and Charlie V were huge mistakes and he knows that. I'd like to think he's smart enough to not make the same mistakes twice. Some of that money is going to have to go to re-signing Monroe in the not-so-distant future.

I'd be more than happy with josh smith and Jose Calderon, with the leftovers going to Monroe.

Stay away from oj mayo, though.

Joe Dumars with over $30M in cap-space is the one thing that could convince Ben Gordon to decline his $13.2M player option.

Reporter: Ben, will you be accepting your $13.2M player option in the offseason?
Gordon: Of course. Nobody in their right mind would pay me anywhere near that amount if I hit free agency.
Reporter: Ben, are you aware that Joe Dumars has over $30M in cap-space to work with?
Gordon: Say what?!?! Player option DE-FREAKIN'-CLINED!
Gordon: If you'll excuse me, I must now go celebrate with the adding of chocolate to milk. This interview is over.
