sucks to lose it that way, but we had a chance to win it and Paul lost the ball. Give Denver's defense credit there. Iggy is a great defender.

So Iggy fouled Paul harder on the other end and nothing, but they are both going for the ball on a inbounds pass and Paul fouled...BS. I really don't know why I invest time to this game. Refs suck.

That was not a foul on Iguadola and that was a foul on Paul George, starting a play with 3 second left against one of the best defensive player in the league is not smart.

That was some quick foul calling. They knew they were going to call it way before they ever threw it in. Same with the shot clock. The end result was determined long before the end of the game and they made sure it didn't go too far off script.

    What are you smoking?

Even the Nuggets announcers were talking about how much the refs screwed over the Pacers.
I listened to the Nuggets announcers. I sure didn't hear that.

I heard that George got away with a body foul before the block of Galanari at 0:26.9.

I watched Paul George get away with a charge and then lose the ball at 0:01.5.

I saw Iggy call timeout with somewhere between 0:01.2 and 0:01.0 but the "officials didn't acknowledge the timeout" until 0:00.5. What does that even mean?

Then Paul committed an ill-advised foul on the inbounds pass - he's almost lucky it wasn't a dead-ball foul.

I see no reason to blame the refs tonight.

I blame Vogel. That last possession should have been a pick-and-roll with Hill and West. That play works. George's handles are still quite suspect. He's a fine catch-and-shoot guy, but I don't want him putting the ball on the court in that situation. So that's on the coach.

Besides, he waited far too long on the shot/game clock to even begin his move. He was clearly going for the three. Which makes not sense in a tie game. Get to the rim, don't settle for a three in a tie game. That's the part that has me pissed off.

Are you saying he should have started the play a second later? And at what point did Iguadola become the best defensive player in the league?

All I'm saying is that Paul George should have started moving at the 7 seconds mark, but instead he decided to start moving at the 3 seconds mark, that was not enough time to do much.

And regarding Iguadola, he is not best defender in the NBA but he is up there for sure, at least top 5.

But wasn't it a valid strategy to try to take as much time off the clock as possible before the play? Playing a team that has a fast-paced offense and giving them 2 or more seconds for a final play is a lot worse than missing a shot and leaving the game in overtime. If Paul doesn't lose the ball (we'll leave for the moment whose fault it was he lost the ball), we're probably in OT if the last shot isn't made.

I don't agree with vnzla on the call, but I do agree that he should have started his move earlier. At that point, they only thing Paul could do was pullup for a jumper right around the 3 point line. If he starts it earlier, he has time to work into the midrange where his step back is more effective.

If you shoot too early, you can lose. If you shoot too late, you go to overtime . Not getting off a good shot, or even a shot at all, is better than watching the opponent go the other way.

Getting to OT would have been a small win in itself.

Live to play another 5 minutes.

He was too far from the basket though, he was not even close to the 3 point line with 3 seconds left, not only that but I don't understand why he positioned himself all the way to the right side of the court, if something you learn in basketball is that the out of bounds line is another defender.

Yeah he definitely should have gone to the top of the key, and began his move about a second or two earlier. He's still learning what to do in those situations, it sucks to be losing close games right now, but its a part of the growing pains of a star I guess

Tie game, and can't run out the game clock before the shot clock expires, and we're settling for an ISO-3FGA.

While I was watching the game I wanted Paul to take that shot, even if the shot was missed or they lost the game.... Reason being I want him to get that experience to know what he did wrong to improve that and be better at those plays down the stretch. Doesn't have to be the last shot but down the stretch so he learns how valuable those plays are and what he should and shouldn't be doing.
