just so we don't forget it.
just so we don't forget it.
Well, I'm definitely thrilled so far!
I had us at 1-3, and we are 4-0!
I'm probably wrong about at least 1 or 2 of the W's I predicted for later this month, but if they happened to stick to my predictions, we would go 11-1 on the month. That sounds like a bit much to me now, but then again if Danny is back by the CHA game...
Another night, another backside-kicking. They just hit you from so many sides, now, in waves. It's like a cavalry, running down hill and trampling you underfoot. You have no tactical advantage, you're just swinging wildly in the mud, and the best strategy might be to play dead.
They are an absolute onslaught right now.

I think it caused the TOR loss, and I'm sure it didn't help with the BKN loss, however I will say that had David not had his eye scratched a minute into the game, I can easily imagine us doing just enough to win that one. I blame that eye scratch more than the previous week's games on the BKN game.
Yikes! They may have gone 5-2, but I'm 2-5! Once again demonstrating why I prefer to make 'general predictions' of Wins/Losses over a given stretch of schedule rather try in futility to predict them game by game. In general, I had them going 4-3.
Hopefully these too-many-games-too-soon, flu-like symptoms, and scratched eyes are all put to bed coming out of the All-Star break!
If they are (we have our legs, Danny's back, West can see again), I think the rest of the month could go about how I have predicted.
I'm already pissed. I believe in the team and for good reason. I know 3 in a row was tough, but all 3 teams were missing their starting centers, and Chicago and Philly both were missing key scoring guards as well. And the first 2 were at home. And Philly sucks now.
Toronto game was in the bag and they just let it slip away, and then they did it again vs the Nets.
This team was good enough to not lose a game in the month and they've already lost 2. I'm sorry, but these are the standards a great team must follow. I allowed for the tough roads losses and situations where you face a full strength team on a back to back night in the prior months.
But FEB has been handed to them on a silver platter. This is the month you chew everyone up, get out in front and then try to not lose too much and give up the lead in the tough final few weeks.
If you can't beat Toronto here then how do you beat PHX in AZ in the middle of a long 4 game across the country road trip?
NYC is very winnable at this point, we already saw it. Granger should be giving them 10-15 quality minutes for a few weeks to end the month. West gets a week of rest, ditto Roy. Paul is in that place where he doesn't need rest, ditto Hill (when not ill).
I love the team no matter what, but if they don't F the league in the A the rest of this month I'm going to be very disappointed. King James is on a taking names warpath, and don't think that's an accident. We are past JAN, past halfway. This is the stretch when guys stop cruising and start pushing the little ones over to the kids table. We don't want to be at that table this year.
The Raptors since acquiring Gay have turned into a pretty good team that has played fairly well.
They are on a 4 gae winning streak, having beaten the Pacers, Denver and New York, along with N.O.
Not suggesting they are turning into anything more than maybe a .500 team, but if they are that now, that is a lot better than they were before the trade. Or it might just be a post trade bounce.

Dare I say these are 2 very winnable games? We could get hot here.
By me ^^
Well the Knicks game sure matched my attitude and expectations. I'd like to think the two DET games will too, as well as GSW now that they are struggling. That sets up a pretty big statement game with the Clippers to end the month.

We're 6-2, I thought we'd be 5-3... seems close, except I've gotten nearly every game wrong. It's been an odd month, but still shaping up to be a very strong one with a couple SHOULD BE gimme games against Detroit coming up.
Call me greedy, but I think we should not lose again until we go into Miami on the 10th.
By the way, someone else will need to make the March version of this thread next week; Anthem gave up PD for lent and won't be back until April.
"Danny Granger is one of the top players in the league. To move Danny, you better get a lot back." - Larry Bird
I mean look at our schedule between now and then
vs Golden State
vs LA Clippers
That's the type of stretch where a contender rips off an 8-0 or 7-1 stretch.
I'm just bumping my prediction just like everybody else to see how well they did. Too bad the Pacers lost twice home games, so close at winning both.
When the Pacers won the b2b2b games, I really felt that my 12-0 win streak in February really had a chance. Oh well, a 10-2 run will still be great and will increase our chances at owning the #2 spot.
