It hit the bottom corner of the backboard.

The side of the backboard is in bounds and I think it is clear it hit the side by the way it bounded off

Well either way the backboard play pretty much sums up the game

    Case Book Play 9.2.2
Throw-In Violations 9.2.2 SITUATION A: Thrower A1: (a) causes the ball to carom from the wall behind him/her, or from the floor out of bounds and then into the court; (b) caroms the ball from the back of the backboard to a player in the court; or (c) throws the ball against the side or the front face of the backboard, after which it rebounds into the hands of A2. RULING: Violation in (a) and (b), since the throw touched an object out of bounds. The throw-in in (c) is legal. The side and front face of the backboard are inbounds and, in this specific situation, are treated the same as the floor inbounds.

You have to review that. I'm sorry. Maybe you're right after 10 replays, but you gotta review that in real-time. Refs had no idea what the hell was going on...utter incompetence. And I would think, when you don't know what's going on, you go to the freaking monitors.

The big difference, other than the multitude of breaks Utah got and the comedy of errors on our end, was Jefferson having his way with Hibbert. Horrible match-up for Roy. Should have switched West onto him earlier.

On second thought, it probably wasn't a turnover: since it came back inbounds, it probably just hit the side of the backboard, or its downside. The inbounder didn't take the ball first as it hit someone in the face before, so it should be legal.

That said, they should have reviewed: if you don't do it there, then when?

It is not a reviewable play. They could not review it. There are only certain plays that are reviewable

Are we sure the NBA doesn't have replacement refs?

It wasn't reviewable because they called a foul, right? A foul they shouldn't have called until they were confident they knew what the hell happened.

I could let this go if it wasn't for the fact we could have taken a big jump on the other teams ahead of us. Brooklyn Chicago and NY all lost as well. Makes me sick!

No, the NBA refs have always been horrible.

No, foul had nothing to do with if it is reviewable. A ball off the backboard is not reviewable.

i could list a hundred plays that aren't reviewable. Goaltending isn't reviewable.

Except for Sir Allen Connor. Which is why we haven't seen him since the IND/POR home game in December...

When is somebody on this team going to stand up and address the turnover problem?

Aside from that controversial last play, this team needs to cut down its turnovers and more importantly grab the rebounds. It's just useless if they waste so much possessions.

The front replay looks like Millsap is behind the backboard. How can it hit the side, when he's already behind it? If the was towards the corner of the baseline, then yeah, but he's already behind it when the ball releases his hand.

Someone line up the Warren Commission.

Yes , who touched it last is reviewable. But whether the ball hit the side, bottom, top, back, front is not reviewable
