What comes after full speed drills? Light contact? Then full contact?

I'd like to know if all pain is gone in his knee. Perhaps that's what this means?

Didn't Quinn also state that he was participating in "full contact" drills too??

Yes, Quinn did. Brooke stressed it wasn't for long, but still.

Good to see he's getting there. It would be great for him to get in and regain his footing in time for the playoffs.

Full contact drills are usually the last thing a plyer does before they are ready to come back.

I was watching the Bulls game yesterdy and they were talking about how Rose was doing contact drills, but they were controlled contact drills - meaning he knew where the contact was coming from.

I really hope we don't do that. I think Granger needs to come back after that game. Give the team as currently constructed another chance to beat them on their own. It gives the young guys a chance to experience what the Heat do one more time and gets them a little more practice for coming off the bench in the playoffs.

If we have Granger available to us, especially if he's just coming back, he will want to play more than he should. I don't think Granger should come back before he can go 100% full speed, and especially don't throw him in there against Lebron and Wade immediately to test it out. I think Granger needs to be slowly reincorporated to the team, not only for his rehab but for improving comfort levels with defensive rotations and offensive play calls. I think we should target just before the All-Star break to get him back. This gives him a couple of games to get in the flow with fewer minutes and the All-Star break to rest and see how his knee is reacting. After the All-Star break, we can more fully incorporate him to use him as a full-time starter.
"Your course, your path, is not going to be like mine," West says. "Everybody is not called to be a multimillionaire. Everybody's not called to be the president. Whatever your best work is, you do it. Do it well. You cease your own greatness when you aspire to be someone else."

Of course I agree with you 100%, but damn....Just think how bad assed it would be for the Lone Granger to come back and stomp a mud hole in LeWade's face....As if he hadn't skipped a beat....I can have dreams right

We've been good without Granger, however, I'm concerned. Most concerning is how well Chicago has played without Derrick Rose.

I'm not. Chicago has always been a good team. Rose gets wayyyy too much of the credit for their success.

They were a playoff team 2 years before they got him, and then were just barely in the lottery. Then they got a new coach.

Knee injuries suck! I've been dealing with "runners knee" for over 6 months now. That might seem minor but it's been painful to even walk up and down stairs and haven't been able to run at all. All of this from not changing my arch supports often enough. Knee is starting to feel better but I have a feeling it will be another 3 or 4 months before I can try running again. A broken leg will even heal much faster than a minor knee injury. Ridiculous.

The Pacers are DOOMED! Just think how awful it's going to be having Danny Granger back, ruining our offensive flow.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

How much do you run? Did you do rest days . I work out every day(weights, running,Basketball, elliptical. Other Cross training) so am curious.

I used to do big mileage when I was in racing mode(60-70 Miles week) but I was only doing about 25 miles a week. It was not from over-training. My knee was feeling just slightly tender and tight but would go away after a few minutes of running. My fault for ignoring the warning signs and not changing my arch supports. Live and learn. Once you develop runners knee it's usually a lengthy recovery process from everything I've read. So 6 months is not unusual unfortunately.

Vogel said the goal is still for Granger to return before the AS break but holding him out until after it is a possibility

    Sweet.

EDIT: That's February 16-17. So maybe things are progressing a little more slowly than hoped... they projected his return as early February, but I was hoping for late January. Sounds like we're still on target for the original projections, though.

Nope.....that just means Granger will now have a chance to prove how low his trade value is

I just don't see how adding a former all-star shooting forward could improve our team's offense. Especially one with a known history of doing whatever the coach tells him... don't people see how destructive this could be for our squad? It's not like I've ever watched a Pacers game and wished that we had another dead-eye shooter.

When you add in the fact that he's a good defender with a proven history of meshing well with our current starting unit, it just points to overwhelming problems for the Pacers. Is it too early to start tanking?

Well, that dead horse is a zombie horse by now.

To be clear, I am all for trading Granger before the trade deadline IF some Team is willing to overpay for him while not impacting our 2013-2014 SalaryCap while getting back assets that will help us in the long and short term. My guess is that no one will be willing to overpay before this trade deadline....hence my willingness to simply live with the status quo and see how fun a ride we can have with our original Starting lineup. But come June/July......unless some miracle happens.....I would be more in favor of trading Granger to make more adjustments to the roster for the long term.
