Default Is it worth it to go to a game if I'll be in the balcony?

I'm trying to talk my dad into driving me and brother up to Indy on Christmas day (our mom works that day so we're having Christmas with our family on the 26th). We can still get tickets for the balcony section for only 10 bucks.

But I was wondering, is it worth it to go if you're that high up? Can you even see?

Anyone who has experience from that high up please post.

*edit* I worded it wrong, of course it's worth it to go, but is it worth it to make the four hour drive up there (I am near Evansville, Indiana *I69 where are you!*)

I have sat on the Very last row before and the view is still decent , the lower balcony is even better.

    100% Absolutely YES.

Conseco Field House has just about the best view from the balcony of any arena in the NBA - you will not miss any of the action, you'll just be a bit farther above it. If you have a choice, try more for center court so that the center court score board doesn't annoy you as much. (It doesn't block the view at all from the ends, it just seems a little lower and when the play is on the opposite end of the court).

    Have fun at the game!

Well this was kind of a spur of the moment thing, and I doubt my dad will be willing to spend too much money on tickets since it's so close to Christmas. And the only things on TicketMaster are in the balcony. Don't want to mess with EBay because the tickets might not get here in time.

I think its worth it. When I go to the games, its more to feel the and be a part of the crowd. I'm usually so high up, I've used the back wall as a drum when they say Pacer People make some noise

MagicRat's pictures are from the balcony. Granted, they are lower than where the $10 seats would put you, but I think that's a pretty good representation of what you see from the balcony.

I know that, for the money, I really like my balcony seats.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Wait, so you are saying there are seats below the balcony?
You, Never? Did the Kenosha Kid?

    The balcony is the best.

Well, not really...but they are still pretty darn good. I would go to a million games sitting from the balcony rather than go to 500,000 from the front row.

Well, we ordered them. Section 208, Row 12. I'm so damn excited. Only the second Pacers game I've been to, and it's against the Pistons. Christmas is sweet this year! Nintendo DS, money to help me build a new computer, and a Pacers game. *hugs everyone* MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Just being in Conseco would be worth $10, I sat in the center on the very top row when they played NYK for 20 and it was still good.

You can see what the view will look like at Consecofieldhouse.com

who wants to buy my seat for the game? It's right by the pistons tunnell and like the closest you can get. My mom doesn't trust me so I am not attending

Does not your mom realize that if the Pacers were to win with you not in attendance that no one from PD would allow you to attend another game until they lose at Conseco with you not there? Once a streak is started it is best not to mess with Karma!

BTW... Maybe you should try to work a compromise where you trade with a balcony seat owner? Maybe your mom would trust you more if you were far away from the tunnel? Just a thought....

    hmmm...
The drive from Evansville is about 3.5 hours to Conseco. I make that drive a few times a year and it's one of the most boring drives to make, but..
I would drive from China just to be inside Conseco during the Christmas day game. I would drive from the moon just to be inside Conseco for the Jan 27th game though. These two game are history in the making! I think you'll be pleased that you picked up those tickets. Actually I'm shocked that the game is not sold out yet.
