He just said the Tom Thibodeau should win Coach of the Year because he has the Bulls in 1st place without Derrick Rose.

    ESPN makes me so mad.
"We've got to be very clear about this. We don't want our players hanging around with murderers," said Larry Bird, Pacers president.

    Really?

    Seems to have a point.

I mean, I hate the Bulls like any other Pacers fan, but when they're doing this well without their MVP candidate and Deng battling injuries through the season...

I'm beginning to lose respect for people who watch Stephen A and Skip Bayless. I gave up watching them years ago. Yet people continue to watch that garbage.

Bulls are not in 1st place in the division. The Pacers are.

I don't mean to take away from what the Bulls have done, it has been a good effort on their part to achieve what they have so far.... but they aren't a bad team, even without Rose. When you play defense at a high-level, you're going to win more than you lose. Theyr'e going to win by default. I don't see them as a contender without Rose, though.

I'm not sure how First Take can ever be taken seriously. It's like a dream show for ESPN because they throw two idiots on there to yell at each other and say 'controversial' statements that get people talking on Twitter and Facebook. That's all ESPN wants. They don't care about the quality of what's coming out of their mouths. All they care about is that it gets people talking and that's what they get.

Except we're the ones in first place. It IS insulting that he doesn't even know that. Apparently he just assumed Chicago was leading the Central.

So if his argument is "Look how great the Bulls are without Rose, Thibs has them in first place in their division," it's not all that great if he doesn't, in fact, have them in first place.

I love how often they go back on what they said. Skip bashed Harbaugh for benching Alex Smith, now Skip talks about how he always loved the idea.

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

I see your point....but when they're ( the Pacers ) doing this well without Granger ( A KEY PLAYER ) that is ALSO battling injuries through the season.....then shouldn't Vogel be included in the same discussion?

Sounds like you just described the Pacers season as well thus I guess with that argument you also are eliminating Vogel as a Coach of the Year candidate also.

This forum is getting very convoluted with threads like this. How in the world does Stephen A. Smith saying something about COTY deserve its own thread? Ridiculous.

Stephen A is annoying and gives me a headache. I'm glad he and I have the same work schedule so I don't have to watch him much at all!
