Intresting but no surprise , wish we had a better supporting cast for them though.

Now I really don't keep up with the salary end of things , but how long can we reasonably assume to keep freeney and mathis before there salary is bloated and we have to dump them ? or is that a worry ?

Freeney is first overall in the league (13 sacks) while Mathis is tied for third in the league (10.5 sacks). Amazing, considering that Mathis doesn't play as many downs as most ends in the NFL. It was a delight to watch Dwight just maul the OT so often yesterday. So much for the team being weak on grass; they have proven they can get it done away from the Dome.

I'm loving the D line. Freeney, Mathis, Raegor, and Brock have come up with big plays all season long.

And once again...we dont need our defense to be top 5, though it wouldn't hurt. All our defense needs to be is average, and we are set. And right now, they are playing amazing. We will continue to give up yards, but we are sacking and holding opponents to little points, 14, 10, 9 points, and shutting out one team for 3 quarters. If we play like this,we are in very good shape.
