So who do you guys have as the reserves?

On the West I have Duncan, Parker, Westbrook, Lee, Harden, Ibaka and Zbo.

On the east I have Noah, Bosh, Paul George, Boozer, Holiday and Chandler.

    Psh...

Bring on the reserves. That's all I care about. At least the coaches pick them.

I'd have put West in over KG. The guy isn't an All Star.

Howard is averaging 17.8 and 12.6 per game, if Duncan is over him it's because his team has a better record.

Duncan has been playing all world defense this year. I think Duncan has been the better player tho no one would argue it's an egregious mistake.

That's why I think Duncan should've started over Howard, but then again you have the "fans" voting and Howard is in for the name.

The reserves are always more interesting to watch anyway, IMO.

Idk that Chicago gets 2 AS if they're behind the pacers in the easy by the time the time the reserves are chosen. It just doesn't make sense, ya know?

I could see Kyrie making it as opposed to Boozer. Also J-smoove deserves consideration. And the rest of your reserves are solid picks

In the West idk that Ibaka makes it. 14/8 aren't AS numbers. I could see Stephen curry making it.

I'm predicting Paul and D-West to be selected from the Pacers.

To me the teams in both conferences are so close(record wise) that at the end of the day the coaches are going to vote for whoever has the better numbers, Boozer and Noah numbers are pretty good, I mean Boozer is averaging close to 16 and 10 and has been on a roll lately, Noah is averaging 12 and 10, maybe Brook Lopez could beat him with 17 and 7?

I also think that players like David West, JR Smith, Josh Smith, Monta, Deng and others are on the outside looking in.

West > KG right now. The numbers bare that out as well.

I don't think KG should make the all-star game, let alone start.

I'm predicting West to be an All-Star anyway along with PG24, but I agree. KG should not be an All-Star period.

Letting the fans vote sucks because so many only care about the name, but at least it's only the starters. Otherwise, Brian Scalabrine probably would've been a 5 time All-Star if the fans picked the reserves too.

Oh, they will be plenty good by the end of the season. That record will get better and better and most people know that.
thats the problem, their record isn't better RIGHT NOW, people shouldn't vote on all-star thinking that they will get better, because you don't know and they haven't lived up to it yet

I'm not sure about that, both of them numbers are kind of close.

I would replace KG with Chandler by the way.

And I'd put Chandler, Noah and Bosh ALL over KG.
KG would NOT MAKE THE TEAM if he wasn't a starter. He just killed West's shot, I mean this is the thing that clearly keeps West off the team. If you could have a guy for just this season only there is no way you don't take any of those other 3. Personally I'd take Chandler because even compared to Noah he's been a monster defender. I'd also easily take West this year over KG this year. I need scoring and consistent defense, not whatever the F KG has been doing this year. He's one of the major issues the Celtics have.

Rondo? Okay, so let's leave Paul Pierce off the team because middle of the pack teams don't have 3 all-stars....oh wait. If Pierce is having a killer year which he is, and idiot fans are saying these other 2 guys are freaking AS starters, then I guess the Celtics have the 1st or 2nd best record in the East. They've got the same AS ratio as Miami, and more AS than NYK so it stands to reason that they are just destroying people.

I know it happens every year and at least these dips***s didn't vote in a dead guy or a someone who hasn't played a single game like they normally do, but even as a FAN I don't want to watch an East team that's starting KG over 15 better front court players. I want to see the BEST players NOW. I hope the West team just beats the holy hell out of them.

Unfortunate. With the new positions for Bigs, there is no way West makes it now that KG is a starter. They will give both Noah, Chandler, and Bosh the nod over David West.

I keep hoping that one of these years the fans will no longer be the ones in charge of who the first ten all-stars are.

Maybe a good tweak would be having the coaches select all of the players for the rosters but the fans get to vote who starts from that set of players.

I don't think Horford is going to beat out Paul Pierce. How could the coaches leave off Boston's best player?

BTW, more on KG - GEORGE HILL scores as many PPG and shoots a better 3 (obviously) and makes more FTs per game than KG.

    KG REB+AST = 7.0 + 2.1 = 9.1
    Hill REB+AST = 4.4 + 4.9 = 9.3

    KG BLK + STL = 0.8 + 1.1 = 1.9
    Hill BLK + STL = 0.3 + 0.8 = 1.1

    KG Foul + TO = 2.5 + 2.3 = 4.8
    Hill Foul + TO = 1.8 + 1.7 = 3.5

So Hill scores the same, has a slightly better R+A impact on the game, has a slightly worse B+S defensive impact on the game, and has fewer negative plays per game, but KG is a starter and Hill is maybe the 3rd best guy on the Pacers, or 4th if you consider the elite level of Hibbert's defense.

If Roy Hibbert was an all star with 12.8 and 8.8 I don't think is crazy to see KG get the all star with 14.6 and 7, just saying and I don't agree with him starting.(KG)
