"You're advertised to get one thing, and you get
something totally different and that's the nature of the lawsuit," McGuinness told
CBS4 News at the time. He compared the incident to paying for a porterhouse
but getting cube steak in return.
That of course ignores the fact that the game
actually turned out to be surprisingly close.
Dynamic pricing for the tickets or not, whoever plays or does not play in a game is
up to the discretion of the Head Coach, not the fans. It's not at all like walking into
a restaurant and ordering from a menu knowing exactly what you should be getting.
Sure there will be dissapointment, like if you bought tickets to a concert and the
band didn't play for as long as you would have liked; but that is not grounds for legal
recourse. This lawer should have known his argument had little merit...what a douche.

For that being a regular season game... It felt like a "Market Square Arena" Play-off game. That was probably one of the best games I've ever attended. The atmosphere was second to none!
I was there too! Crazy game, Fred Jones nearly won the game for us! Crowd gave the players a standing ovation.

It'd be kind of funny, at least to me, if Spoelstra decided to rest LeBron, Wade, Bosh, and Mario Chalmers (in the Danny Green honorary role) for Sunday's game, just to stick it to the Spurs.

It won't happen, but it'd still be funny, IMO.
Or maybe not. LeBron, Wade, and Chalmers aren't playing tonight. Bosh is in. https://twitter.com/WindhorstESPN

This makes it even more exciting if they play in the Finals, IMO. Nothing to compare to in the regular season.

I hope Pops rests 7 guys and just sends out the 8 worst players on the squad.

He'll never do it for a home game. Every time he's rested his guys it's been on the road. Every time.

Somebody needs to sue the Heat now.

I suppose they didn't want to be accused of whining again. Ainge should just call them cowards now.

Won't happen. Heat reported the injuries beforehand unlike San Antonio. I agree it is a load of BS, but it is what it is.

As far as a lawsuit those ones against SA were about as frivolous as it gets. I would hope the person who filed it lost a lot of money in the process.

It is a pile. They should be fined by the league as well for lying.

It would be easier to prove the lawsuit was frivolous if Stern hadn't spoke up and penalized the Spurs for it. He at least gave the original lawsuit a chance. I haven't read the judge's decision but it wouldn't surprise me if his ruling was actually counter to the points used by Stern to penalize the Spurs.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

But they actually didnt, unless they all fell and injured themselves in a pre-game shower together. (not that there's anything with that....)

The game started at 7. The injuries and the decision they'd be held out of the game was at 5:17, per twitter.

“The result here is dictated by the totality of the facts in this case,” commissioner David Stern said in a statement. “The Spurs decided to make four of their top players unavailable for an early-season game that was the team’s only regular-season visit to Miami. The team also did this without informing the Heat, the media, or the league office in a timely way. Under these circumstances, I have concluded that the Spurs did a disservice to the league and our fans.”
Unless Stern is going to try and argue the differences between sitting 3 and sitting 4, he'd better give an even bigger fine at Miami for doing it after setting the precendence it'that type of behavior isn't allowed.
