With those shots he's digging my grave too.

Fun fact: The pacers won 1 game this season where the opponent scored 100 or more points.
Fun fact: The pacers have only allowed 100 or more points 6 times this year. Only once since Dec. 9th.

Threw glimpses at the match as I watching NFL playoffs (and Peyton's loss ). From the stats seems West, Hill and Lance dominated. Very happy with the win and Lance scored a couple of beauties as i noticed. The record keeps going on and on and i really love that. Do we know if Paul is available for tomorrow or it will be decided shortly before the match?

Edit: Some teams are really having some crazy ups and downs. Chicago won yesterday at New York much easier than the score suggested and tonight they lose at home against Phoenix quite easily as well.

Chicago is a strange team, very good on the road, mediocre at home. Strange considering they sell out most of their games.

    David West interview:

Most important is how positive he was about Granger. It seems the team has a timertable for his return even if it's not public.

Hm. I won't say he suffers from Brandon Rush syndrome because he doesn't disappear from the offense.
Yeah, definitely not. If he were Brandon Rush he'd be both taking less threes and making them at a much higher percentage.

I'd guess that if Green could put up the numbers coming off the bench that Rush did out west last year we'd all be pretty happy with him. Kind of funny, eh?

Year Team G GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG

    11-12 GSW 65 1 26.4 0.501 0.452 0.793 0.5 3.4 3.9 1.4 0.5 0.9 1.05 0.98 9.8

Ack, I just looked and Gerald is shooting even worse than I thought - .362 overall and .311 from behind the arc:

Season Team G GS MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
    12-13 IND 35 5 21.4 0.362 0.314 0.775 0.7 2.1 2.8 0.7 0.2 0.4 1.2 1.3 7.2

P.S. I'm not arguing we shouldn't have traded Rush. That ship has sailed and he needed a change of scenery. Still, who thought Green would look inferior to Rush in pretty much every area except dunks when we first signed him? I didn't.

They better get used to scoring....cuz the Pacers will be really tested when we play the Rockets next week.

Am I the only one that didn't like that the Team took so many 3pt shots?

I get that they were hitting some of them and that the Bobcats are a horrific perimeter defending Team....but I thought we could have let up on taking so many 3pt Attempts.

I am really hoping that West and Hibbert are able to come back at some point to provide a decent to solid low-post offensive presence just to keep the opposing Team's Defense honest. We got lucky with hitting so many 3pt shot attempts....but we won't be playing horrific defensive teams like the Bobcats all season long.

They take the 2nd most 3s in the league, and we have the #1 3pt defense. I think we'll be fine.

Yes and no, I REALLY hated seeing Green settling for 3s. Drives me crazy. DJ, Lance, Hill, not so much. I really wish someone would explain to Gerald that he isn't playing for JOB and that he can drive toward the basket. IMO, he's much better offensively when he tries to drive towards the lane.

Agreed. Someone should teach him how to fake a 3pt shot and drive to the hoop.

Also....someone is going to have to tell me.....were the 3pt attempts that he took considered "good shot selection"?

From my angle, they looked to be open shots, just didn't fall.

Although most of them weren't *that* contested, they just weren't falling for him. There were definitely better shots that could have been taken. He also took A LOT of them...

Wow, what a great interview. Hope you don't mind, I'm making a new thread for that.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Coach Vogel's desicion to keep Mahimi in to guard the PnR is just another reason I think Vogel is a top three coach in the East.

I will be interested to see how our bench plays on the road. I think they get the biggest boast from it. Also I am very worried about our odds against Deron Williams and Joe Johnson if PG isn't back to lock somebody down.

I don't like it, but they were very good looks. A lot of them were set shots.

Truthfully I don't mind Gerald Green shooting as much as he does. He doesn't do much else that well, so might as well get value out of him while he's on the floor. You know, use a hammer like a hammer. It's just that he's so quick, athletic, and has a great mid range shot. He needs to get closer to the basket.

He shot 39.1% on a similar number of attempts last year, so... I dunno.

He's had open shots all season. At what point does he accept that last year's magic is gone and he shouldn't be taking this many three pointers?

Yeah...but I don't think that his best skill and value that he adds to the game is his 3pt shot....it's all the other aspects of his game that he has at his disposal.

I agree that it will be a big test. The Rockets are usually scoring like crazy. But their D is really vulnerable. We could take it to them inside.
